Pretty disgusting comment that. This is a man who has had a very good career, has a great attitude and always gives his all. He shouldn't have played in some of the games he did but turned out Saturday, Tuesday etc because WE were desperate. Obviously he is now way past his best but you abuse him for signing a contract that WE offered him.

 

Selling Rowe is infuriating but really the reaction you're seeing is compounded by the years of regression Oldham have endured and we've plummeted to new depths under this owner, who is a complete chancee playing a game of football manager. He chooses which players are available for selection, influences the starting line up, decides who we're going to sign and if anybody speaks up they're out, which has happened with Rowe and Wheater and pretty much all the managers we've had since he bought the club. Nothing can grow here. It's impossible. The fans know this and every bad decision just drives the stake further into the club's heart

 

I'm afraid we know that feeling all too well.... Best of luck in getting shut. Far too many of these charlatans running football clubs into the ground.

 

What is it with your vitriolic view of Donaldson? We have had shedloads of much worse strikers than him.
Last season he was playing well until he got that injury when someone stamped on his toe.
His legs have clearly gone and no one wants him to be starting matches. But he's still a useful option to bring off the bench in the last 20 minutes. Holds the ball up well if it's played to his feet and is brilliant at winning us free kicks in dangerous positions. We could have far worse as a fourth choice front man.

 

Just picked up on this. I had noted Fordy was absent then heard he was self isolating which I wouldn't wish on anyone but now discover its not Covid isolation just keeping away from anything like decent news.

 

People go ott on Donaldson, he’s simply just a player who’s legs have packed in happens to every player. I wasn’t happy with him as first choice as he was when Novak was injured. But he’s now 3rd, maybe even 4th choice depending on how the young lad on loan does. I’m happy with that in the 4th tier.

Got told today that there's no truth to the Donaldson rumour and that he's not coming to Oldham.

Probably the only morsel of good news for us Oldham fans!

 

I have no problem with Donaldson coming on at the end of games to keep defenders busy, use some physicality and hopefully use his experience well. With all the run of games coming up we need to be able to give some of the starting team bits of breaks at the end of matches or they'll just wear themselves out and get injured. If we have Novak and Rowe we have two starting forward, nothing wrong with a Donaldson coming from the bench. If we've been practicing corners he might even get a goal or two!

I feel gutted our best striker has gone.You have a talent who can play as an out and out striker but also in midfield where he can control the ball and has a great passing talent.
