we all want the biggest and best squad that we can, and you’re right that at the end of the day someone has to pay for it. fans will often say it’s down to the owners and the owners will often say the fans have to play their part too. but as usual, a lot of people want everything for nothing.

one option is to increase season ticket prices for every category with the difference between what we have now to what we have with increased prices being matched by the owners.

so say the increased ST revenue is £250k, the owners match it so our budget increases £500k and this money is ringfenced for the first team squad.

unfortunately, many people won’t go for it.

 

Dividend? When was that paid as it wasn’t shown in the last set of accounts.

 

I did say if there is any, but they have been here two years I was presuming there might have been some.

 

Not according to the accounts so far released. Plus they can only pay one if the company is in profit

 

I have put forward the idea of increasing ST prices (many times) but it generally poo poo'ed as we would see a significant drop in attendance along with the Bolling Hall cry of 'Pity poor Bradford'

If increasing ST prices in line with those of our peers results in a significant drop in our attendance then that adds to the opinion that Bradfordi is not capable of supporting a major professional sports team.

 

I do understand that.

 

This has been mentioned countless times during budget discussions and i would gladly go with it. If you want success it comes at a price. Unfortunately our whole club ethos is built on the cheap ticket scenario, we are known for it nationally. £500k at league 1 level would go a fair way in strengthening the first team.

'Presume' was swiftly followed by 'Outraged Supporter' who sees it as fact...thus we beat the owners with the errors of their ways.

And regardless of fact or fiction.

I would like to see the reaction if a share issue was possible or floated, to raise funds, open to the public. It would be interesting to see how many would actually take lump sums and put them into Bradford City!

Let me be frank I would not. Lower league football clubs are generally not a good investment and I would not want my money tied up in one.

Happy to buy my ST (and pay more for it) but that is where my investment ends.

Thats what i thought, yet its being claimed elsewhere that he has borrowed against the club to pay Rupp's dividend which confused me a little.

i’d go for it too, unfortunately there is a large number that won’t - but they also might seem to be those that shout the loudest.

 

Edin can obviously do everyone's job better than they can, He gets involved in every area of the club on a personal basis,
It is not unreasonable for him to now play himself in midfield as we are short and obviously he can do it better than anyone else,

 

Maybe they should leave spending the precious recruitment money to personnel more qualified? There's no doubt that there has been a drop in quality of some signings. Payne excepted, so far on he whole this squad looks another step back from the previous one. We're just left hoping Hopkin can work some wonders with the personnel at his disposal.

NKP, McGowan, Doyle all over 30. Most of the rest are mid 20's which means vast experience. Give up will you, we don't have a squad full of kids we just have a very unfit squad as we have had ever since Parky took Nick Allenby to Bolton.

Colville/ Payne/ O'Brien are a decent enough midfield. It's defence that we need to worry about where our very experienced defence (average age 29 and in excess of 1,000 league games between them) is looking very dodgy.

 

I WAS in favour of increasing ST’s, but until they bring somebody in who actually knows what he’s looking at, I won’t spend above the current level. The recruitment since Abbot came back has been absolutely atrocious. We can blame Edin all we want, but Abbots job is to get the best value for money. Paying good brass for Hanson beggars belief.

 

Can't take a dividend from a limited company unless it's in profit and then they can't exceed the profit after tax. Money taken out of a non profit making Ltd Company is a "directors loan". It's highly unlikely they are taking dividends, though it's said Edin & Wife are both taking six figure salaries which will be taxed and come out of cash flow before profit/ loss.
