    Current squad below. Kept in Doyle and Dieng as still under contract. All the others have appeared for the first team apart from Sykes-Kenworthy who I think could be our number 3 next season. Hudson has signed a new deal so I expect he could be involved this coming season in a sporadic basis.

    Will add/edit/remove players as and when.

    Very weak in key areas.

    With a squad already at 24 I think we would have to offload if we're to bring in eight players.

    We had a squad of 43 at certain times last season... think it was second largest in the division...

    I'm talking about first team players and not including the kids. We are already at 24 and if we go up to 30 plus where are they all going to play ? We had a squad of strictly 16 in Staffords time in the late 60s.Obviously with transfer windows you need a larger squad but it shouldn't be over 24/25 in total.

    Hawkes has played more first team games than Hudson though and you've included him.

    Fair point but I think Hudson is primed for first team appearances this term and Hawkes isn't. We seem to have quite a few CM's and not enough WG's.

    I will add Hawkes.

    That squad so far looks absolutely shocking...6 new players of higher quality needed or else it looks like a big struggle.

    I think he performed really well when he got given a chance at the back end of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if we did see more of him... After all isn't it Edins strategy?!

    I think that is a bit of an over reaction. I think it is well balanced in terms of age and experience - yes, we do need to add some quality but I think if we do that, then we have good competition for places.

    Hoping McGowan, Reeves and Jones can come back stronger.

    I'd like 2 wingers personally (RW&LW), maybe so we're less dependant on Robinson and Gibson.

    Maybe even another standard CM if dieng or Vincelot leaves.

    Where is the confirmation that Ellis Hudson has signed a new contract? I havnt seen this anywhere.

    It might look balanced in age and experience but it shows the same deficiencies as at the start of last season .. a lack of quality and a lack of depth throughout the squad. Serious recruitment is still required in most areas, not just to increase numbers but to bring some genuine quality into the squad. If not, imo it will be another season of trading water at the best.
