Think the real pisser for me was the fact that Crewe looked a bang average side like they did last season yet they got 6 points from us i know thatvfootball has got us out of the shit but its time to start thinking differently now we are safe and that should be a run of games for Ponton whats there to lose ??????

 

The issue is that the execution of the tactics has been far worse the last few games. Going long is fine if there is some strategy and precision to it. The last few games have been filled with aimless long balls.

I would also say that we’ve given possession away more cheaply. The midfield was pretty solid and could get the ball down but since Walker was out we’ve struggled to have any control in the midfield.

 

They played. for a pen and got it … they would have not have scored otherwise. Terrible team and game.

 

What was Odour supposed to do when long balls are getting pumped past him

 

Can't fault the endeavour, but the quality was awful. We really are lacking genuine quality. Let's see if Rupp will open the coffers in January, because quality costs...

 

Some of you guys need to keep away from sharp object tonight, never a spectacle but we had far more chances than them one shot on target and that was from a penalty, unfortunately today we couldn't put any of our four chances away first defeat in 7 and some are whinging like babies get a grip.

Tough loss to take. Crewe were dreadful and clearly just wanted to scrape and hang on...and we let them do that with ease. Smallwood looked like a non league player today and while Cook looked ok at times his holdup play which is usually one of his strengths imo was almost nonexistent. Odour just runs around like a chicken with his head cut off a lot of the time(no pun intended) and today that was even more evident.

January was always gonna be an important window for the Bantams and today just made it even more so. Clearly we need some more creativity and someone who can find the back of the net.

In the grand scheme of things, still just 5 points from the playoffs and we can start another winning streak against Crawley on Saturday.

Totally agree and I am sticking my neck on the line that GA doesn’t see 2024/2025 season through due to the style. This is not a reaction to one loss this is what I’ve seen since he’s been here.

if we were winning and progressing people would
put and shut up and we have, but the style has gone so far the other way it’s going to create divides.

Those Divides will get louder and louder this season with players that aren’t his. By the time summer comes on his stock is already low.

Telling you now this how it will happen…. Clubs a mess sorry a purple patch from GA was never going to hide it.

Both Cook and Smith offered little today chasing "The Hoof" is not there game (no quality balls put into the box
The game was crying out for Pointon to come on carry the ball forward and put quality crosses in (which he did)
The only problem was that we also dismantled our regular strike force with players obviously lacking minutes on the pitch
Against an inexperienced 19 year old keeper accurate crosses into the box putting him under pressure would have secured the 3 points

 

The back up left wingback issue was flagged up by several of us in the summer but faded into the background when we went to a back four. But it's back again, joined this time by a lack of a replacement of any kind for Halliday should he get injured or suspended.

 

That's what I said, we failed to stick one of our four chances away and Crewe scored from the one chance they had, first defeat in 7 games we go again at home to Crawley next Saturday and put some smiles back on a few faces.

League 2 is so bad. Crewe were dogshit. So were we. Teams like them and Barrow near the top tells you how dire this division is.

We were outpaced for the pen, which was deserved, but also missed a few good chances.
Id bring Young straight in for Smith now.
