Also there are certain things you can't get delivered and it saves when you go you always say well have one of these and one of them finishing ip with stuff you dont really need.
Since the lockdown we cant get them on a weekly delivery but we just add more to compensate.

Sure. I could afford to shop at Waitrose in normal times but don't, because I think you pay through the nose for stuff that's no different from what I get from Morrisons in Guiseley.
Obviously there are many people being hit hard financially by the virus, either because they are furloughed or self employed or their business can't open. But there are also many people who are working from home, or retired, on their normal income but with no social life, travel, holidays etc on which to spend it. So the extra £30 on a big shop from Waitrose is neither here nor there to those people.

Yeah, our last two supermarket deliveries have been from Morrisons. It's a good service.

Let's be honest the supermarkets pulled the wool over the weak government eyes. Supermarkets could have done home delivery only or we could have just used the local shops.

The queuing outside the supermarkets is just for show because no matter which supermarket you go into all of them don't care about the social distancing rules once inside. It will be the same when the shops open.

I would say the most common place to catch covid 19 is in a supermarket right now.

If supermarkets were serious then the following should Talk place:

Before you enter you should be temperature checked.
No more than 2 people from the same family allowed inside.
People should wear gloves and masks to be allowed inside
All tills should be open to quicken up service

Problem is this government doesn't have a clue about business, so the businesses just take the mick out of them like the Furlough scheme.

All to do with the idiots that shop there rather than the Supermarkets themselves. I see far more 'Benefit Brenda's' when I shop at Morrisons than when i shop at Sainsburys. ;)

If you are struggling for takeaways, fancy a treat or just can’t be arsed, the Charlie Bingham range of ready meals are lovely. Need to put them in the oven - can’t microwave them.

Please tell me this is a joke.

I'll happily accept the 'whoosh' comments if it is.

Went to Morrison's and what a mess, You are not allowed to queue at the tills anymore everybody has to queue down one isle only and when at the front you are called to a free checkout, Queue was massive as everyone in one queue stretching the length of the supermarket with staff directing everyone who wanted to checkout in to the one line
Complete madness, And guess what? if the staff having to direct and manage the queue were on the tills there would be no queue to manage!!

One of my local low-budget supermarkets has the same system now, as I discovered the other day when I went in there for the first time in months. They had done it right, though; security outside limited the number of people allowed in at any one time, and all the tills were open. It was only a short wait outside, and everything moved surprisingly well. As you imply, it isn't rocket science to make it work!

Supermarkets are quieter today, everyone must be queuing up at McDonalds instead.
