I've just shown the thread to my other half. She wants to know in these difficult times whether Bantam Talk has merged with Mumsnet. What a sexist comment. ;)

And she's still giggling. She just has no understanding of the concerns of modern day football fans.

With no sport, pubs or restaurants to visit. My weekly supermarket visit has become the highlight of the week on my day off from work!

It was meant to be a joke, not an insult. Hence the wink emoji..

There are plenty of chip shops open, why would you do that?

Supermarkets are quieter today, everyone must be queuing up at McDonalds instead.

All to do with the idiots that shop there rather than the Supermarkets themselves. I see far more 'Benefit Brenda's' when I shop at Morrisons than when i shop at Sainsburys. ;)

You should get a selection of them and then rate them on here for us to have a laugh at.

One of my local low-budget supermarkets has the same system now, as I discovered the other day when I went in there for the first time in months. They had done it right, though; security outside limited the number of people allowed in at any one time, and all the tills were open. It was only a short wait outside, and everything moved surprisingly well. As you imply, it isn't rocket science to make it work!

ASDA in Hul are reporting problems with the Government vouchers for meals for kids over the summer break . Customers turning up trying to use them to buy Cigs - Alcohol - Clothes , staff being abused because they are refusing to allow it . What sort of parents are these?, disgusting . A better system would be the food boxes similar to what i recieve . Picked up at a centre or shop , to ensure that kids are actually getting the food . I would imagine this " problem" stretches farther than just Hull .

Things like vouchers are not as straight forward as some think, there is always someone pulling a fast one and taking the piss, selling the voucher and spending the money on Cigs - Alcohol - Clothes, scumbags who sell their kids dinner money on other things, no excuse.

I have been to Morrisons at Five Lane Ends twice since lockdown. Nightmare experience.

No security on door controlling numbers going in and out. Far too many people in the store for me to be able to shop safely. People selfishly reaching over you to pick items off the shelf.

Second time I tried, I walked straight back out.

Been going to Sainsburys at Greengates since, which has been a total contrast.

Respectful queueing outside, queue sometimes looks big when you pull up, but average wait time has been about 8 minutes to get in. Once inside, you have almost got an aisle to yourself, shoppers definitely abiding by the safe distancing rules, staff seem more pleasant, and no queuing at the tills

So big thumbs up for me for Sainsburys and thumbs down for Morrisons.

I shall continue to shop at Sainsburys now, even after we get back to normal

Foreign view from the South of England.
Sainsbury - great, well organised and not over-ran.
Tesco - no entry control but organised inside.
Asda - controlled entry but once in, nobody cared what they were doing. Only once, not going back.
Waitrose - who can afford a big shop there????
