No doubt. Its always going to affect the unvaccinated worse but still there's enough unvaccinated people across the country to make it pretty grim.

I can't tell from the colouring on that map but is London massively worse than Leeds and Bradford for example?

The top 11 areas for the lowest vaccine take up are all in London, followed by Manchester then Birmingham. Bradford is in the top 30.

Bradford has areas which are low, some areas in central Bradford are under 40%, however large areas are over 80%.

The low areas in Bradford are pretty close together and the numbers in total are tiny in comparative to London.

London is a mass of 50 to 60% areas with no areas hitting 80% till you reach the M25. Add into that the tube is pretty much the only way to get round London where up here anything other than a car is a pain in the arse and you have a mix which sees low vaccinated people mixing more frequently than up here were we have more vaccinated people mixing less freely.

This is all fine and completely accurate but it doesn't show definitively that it's "diet covid" it just shows that the vaccinated are better protected.

Which is why I ain't losing any sleep over it. No idea why everyone is being thrown under the bus again at the first sign of trouble otherwise this will continue forever.

Me neither but I also think people are being top quick to downplay it. It should literally just be wait and see from both sides.

My last contribution I think. I stopped going on COVID threads in forums a while ago for my own sanity lol! Not sure why I am back tbh.

On your first point - if it kills you it's a cause of death and will be on your death certificate. COVID is killing people who otherwise would not have died - it's a fact. Your example about the injury is just rubbish I'm afraid. Do you work in the medical profession or with medical professionals?

On your second point. In vaccinated people the main symptoms of COVID for well over a year now have been sneezing, headaches, runny noses (I could list them all). That does not mean that everyone with COVID only experiences that. The mortality rate from COVID is about 1 in 100 in unvaccinated, much less in vaccinated. In that 100 unvaccinated many won't know they have it as we know asymptomatic COVID is highly prevalent (estimated at 60%), many more will have mild symptoms, under 10% will go into hospital (much lower in vaccinated), and only 1 in 100 will die. So the fact that many won't know they have it, and other will only have mild symptoms, does not mean it is not dangerous. Mortality rate is 10 times that of seasonal flue and it looks like omicron is 20-30 times more infectious than seasonal flu.

Let's not let any of the facts get in the way of things though eh :(

Even my wife, who has had both jabs and generally does whatever anyone tells her, is thinking twice about having the booster. If mild mannered yes people like that are in two minds it shows just how badly this government has handled the crisis.

The single worst thing the government has done so far since the warning of Omicron is to scare everyone from hospitality and then not give hospitality a penny of support. It is disgusting the way they are treating small business at the moment. They can remain open but don't have the trade to do so, and because of this they haven't be ordered to shut they get no support.

Rishi Sunak is meanwhile in California, hiding in a crisis.

They put us on lockdown again and a lot of us self employed and business owners are finished. The last lockdown pushed my to the brink mentally, not sure what will happen if we have to go through the same thing again.

You're quoting a completely separate report and you know its not what I was talking about since I specifically mentioned the 28 day period they use.

It not a complete fallacy. Currently it's nothing more than a statistical anomaly but as the presence of infection in the general population increases the anomaly becomes wider.

If we get to a stage where 20% of the population have been infected in the last month then you would expect 20% of people who die on any given day to meet the criteria. It will produce large numbers even if they're not all actually excess deaths.

At this moment in time with the messaging coming out, there is no lockdown but the customers for many are no longer there.

I went to the local pub on Sunday, it was rammed with people dinning. I look at the car park since then and it is empty and this is down to the messaging on Sunday night from Boris on the TV. Words have concequences. You can't tell everyone to limit social contact then expect places like hospitality to not have an avalanche of cancellations on the back of your messaging. Then expect these small businesses to continue on a fraction of the income without offering them some support.

It's normal for cause of death to be boiled down to something specific such as cardiac arrest even if it is the result of something else that has happened an injury or illness or whatever

Increasing speculation that the premier league will be suspended until early Jan. Be interesting to see whether the FL follow suit.

It isn't because I disagree with them, it's because I have enough about me to realise there are people who know a lot more about things than I do as opposed to thinking I'm an authority on everything. And no actually, my opinion on rocket science isn't as valid as an actual rocket scientists', to use a very on the nose example of what I'm getting at.
