It's written, not by a journalist, but by a practicing doctor with direct experience of how overstretched the NHS is, before further easing of restrictions. Do you think she is making this up?

 

Seeing as though there was not a mask insight at Wembley then I would expect no masks at any game I attend this season under these rules.

The rules were a LFT showing a negative result. The test didn't even need to be taken and could be easily fudged.
There really was nothing Covid compliant about it at all.

 

Or just charge the barriers to get in.

If our vaccine roll out can't keep hospitalised number down I say we're in trouble.

 

It wouldn't completely surprise me. Think the only major difference is that they opened up for different reasons.

I wouldn't be shocked for it to come out that there is some variant kicking around over there either. That immediate growth is like nothing we've seen to date.

 

The 'most left wing newspaper in the country' is basically moderate social democratic. If the LibDems got their act together it would be supporting them in a flash (as it has done previously). You make it sound like it's the Morning Star or the Socialist Worker, which it emphatically isn't.

Of course it matters who wrote it! If it was an opinion piece by a lefty journalist then I could understand you dismissing it. But it isn't. It's a first hand account by a doctor working on the ground of how stretches the NHS is. Again, I say, do you think this doctor is making it up?

 

In the Netherlands was it all done in one go or has this been a staged reduction like here?

It does seem they are a fair distance behind us vaccine wise but it also says even though cases surged it is not followed by hospitalisation, though that could change.

I have seen this regarding vaccine take up from those deemed at highest risk based on ethnic group. There could be a big discrimination element on the horizon should people ending up losing their jobs or access to everyday life if they haven't had the vaccine.
