I'm just starting a 10 day stretch...can't taste a bloody thing. Had a test ... hopefully get a negative tomorrow.

I lost my sense of taste and smell about 2 months ago. It went for about 4 days and was accompanied with a constant cough. I went and booked a test on the day I lost my taste and smell and it came back negative. I hear people saying false positives but I think I had a false negative.

I was certain I had it and was suprised the test was negative as I have never had an illness that has seen me lose taste and smell.

 

Test has come back negative. The T&T app is still saying to self isolate for another 9 days although the text I received said I can return to work.

the test result text doesn’t know you are isolating under the track and trace. The track and trace instruction is the one you have to follow. If you had taken the test just because of symptoms then you could return to work

 

T&T app now gone back to scan mode and no longer showing isolation countdown.... looking like I'm good to go.

 

Sounds like you are like me. Symptoms to suggest you have it but test to say you haven't.

I worked from home for a week after to make sure.

 

I don't think you are. The test result has no bearing on the isolation period regardless of what happens on the app.

As usual though people will take the path of least resistance i suppose.

Why did the app tell you to isolate? Due to contact or symptoms?

 

Sounds reasonable, We were desperate to protect people and get a supply of PPE, we were in a que with the rest of the world also desperate and willing to pay whatever it cost, He got us the goods and got his rewards in a demanding market

 

Due to a symptom... I couldn't taste anything yesterday morning. In fact my sense of taste is only just returning now.

In that case yep you are free. I thought you meant the app had told you to isolate so you went for a test

 

Hi all. Here's my experience and a serious problem i didn't even know i had. Tested positive a fortnight ago and was extremely poorly the first week. Hot,cold,sweats shivers, nausea. Anyway after a week was through the worst and not feeling bad. My daughter suggested though that I ought to check my blood oxygen levels. They were very low so rang 111 for advice. They sent an ambulance and i spent the next few days in hospital on oxygen. The thing is, until now nowhere had i read any mention that if you have covid you should check oxygen levels. I've just got home tonight.

 

Not surprised really, oxygen was a major element of treatment in the early days of the virus, at one stage there was a danger of the NHS running out...
