says it all doesn’t it? Go get a job in a new sector. We don’t care, we are getting another £3,300 per year. I mean when is this bullshit going to stop or are we just going to keep taking it? We are all in it together remember. Literally thousands maybe millions will be in poverty I’d say in the next few months. And then you get this.
It’s about time we had a massive rethink today politics in this country and stop this. They don’t even live in the real world

Joke isn't it. I would hope the MPs refuse it or donate it given the current circumstances. If they don't it's ridiculous.

From the off mate the MP's have taking the total pee out of us all and never set the example.

We had Mp's going to their second homes.
    Cummings joke situations
    Test, test, test - failure
No world beating track and trace.
    Education shambles.
Only open boarders to allow them to go on holiday.
Had a 6 week break in the summer.
The Conservatives not going on GMB, Channel 4, Newsnight or any programme in which they feel will face tough questions.
    Now MP's getting pay raises!

    I could add more.

Seriously!! Total joke and anyone who is backing Boris is an idiot! A massive idiot!

What I see is we never but London in lockdown at the start or the south. It was as one!

Not obsessed but when Boris own area has higher infection rate than Bradford but its carry on as normal there I have a problem with it and I don't even live in Bradford.

This seems to conflict somewhat with surveillance report data. The two main age groups to see rises in infection rates last week were 11-15 and 16-24. Now, yes, some of the latter might be spreading it in pubs yet the 25-34 age group actually saw infection rates fall which suggests maybe not. We know it's gone ballistic in universities but less seems to be spoken about high schools. The 11-15 rise is nearly as big. The rises in infection rates by age group make it look much more likely that the virus us spreading in student environments than hospitality. (See Fig 5.) There have been news articles saying the governments own modellers said students would drive this rise when they recongregated. Surely if all these other hospitality industries were the cause, it would have taken off rapidly in July or August rather than September, straight after students returned. I'm guessing more adults download track and trace than 14-year-olds?

Sorry Fordy I didn't understand most of that.

Boris's own area doesn't have a higher infection rate than Bradford does it?

Well London wasn't as badly affected as the North so why would it be treat the same?

It's R as calculated from the self-reporting website. It tied in fairly well with other government data until last week but then the government found a load of cases it had misplaced and it ties in fairly well again. It shows R is falling. Cases are still expanding but less rapidly. If R continues to fall in the same trend, cases will top out next week. Essentially, R is being calculated off the blue graph here:

I took the governments career retraining quiz and it suggested entertainer or bar work/hospitality

also, absolutely nobody wants to sit at home and be doing nothing. we would all much rather be working but the government would rather throw an entire industry under the bus than get an effective test and trace system going

Aaaaahhh!! Test and Trace! It's doing my head in. It's simply a responsibility free Utopian idea that means we can all do what we want and it's someone else's problem. There is no possible T&T system in the world that would allow full social freedoms, it's bonkers.

Well be happy. The government are going to pay people two thirds of their wages if their employers is forced to shut for the next 6 months. Completely disagree with it myself but there we go. So they will be paying people a significant amount of their income to stay at home for over a year, madness, but I'm sure some of the people involved will still find a way to moan.

It's easier and quicker to fly to germany, get a test, get your result the same day and fly back home than it is to get tested in this country. with an efficient testing system hospitality can open safely if they require a negative test within the last 24 hours to admit people. its not perfect, but i think that would catch enough people as to minimise the risk to an acceptable level.

got to be done, public health measures should be in tandem with economic support not working against each other. nobody wants to be at home and you also make out like taking a 20% wage cut is no big deal for most working people either.

It's really not. My girlfriend got one on Monday and the result came back Tuesday.

What? So everyone who wants to go to the pub has to be tested within the day?? Hahahahahaahahaha!! That is the funniest thing I've ever heard! How many millions of tests a day do you think that would take? I'm guessing they'd all be free as well? Come on, talk me through this one. Even forgetting for the false negatives that would slip through and then infect everyone anyway.

This is why Test and Trace "doesn't work", because people's expectations of it are through the roof!!

I've taken a 10% wage cut and I'm still working. People getting any percentage of their wage to sit at home for 6 month to a year should be enormously grateful whether they "want to" or not.
