Thata all good. But logically the more virus that is out there the more chance anybody has of catching it.....including vulnerable people.

I just genuinely can't see past how that can't be true and obvious.

Yes, young people have been infected more than old people, I made the case for exactly that a couple of days ago. But isn't that just because young people are predominantly the current carriers and interact closely more with other young people rather than older people? So they pass it to their peers immediately and often but the spread to older people is more sporadic and further down the line.

But the first bit is really my main point. As the number of infections go up the chance of anyone coming into contact with it increases. I can't think of any way that isn't true.

Almost nobody will adhere to that six person rule.

In general, peoples tolerance for lockdown conditions lasted a month or so. Convincing them to go back now is a hopeless task.

    I don't disagree.

But if people don't they only have themselves to blame if it goes belly up.

    Well no.

The problem is simple A) Not enough testing B) No world beating track and trace app

Get them right and no issues.

People are not going to follow lockdown rules now.

Partly. Although no track and trace is going to get 100% of people and I'm starting to think an app isnt even technologically possible.

In the absence of those, people are going to have to take responsibility for their actions.

Not going to happen and the economy is on it's knees.

It's clear...let people make their own decisions now because no way round the situation.

Can't say it's safe to send kids to school then next minute 6 people plus can't meet.

Yes. People can make their own decisions. As I said, they just have to be willing to take responsibility if they go against the advice.

Well they can. It's not all or nothing. This is the trade off to opening the schools and economy back up.

Trade off doesn't work when making money mate..Bloody trade off. Was talking to a company in Leeds centre today struggling... 8 companies shut down in Whitby...

Seriously, trade off. Nonsense! If it's not safe, it's not safe for everyone increasing children.

    The UK can't afford a 2nd lockdown...It's not happening!

So you're saying complete lockdown or no controls at all?

It isn't safe but like all risks it can be mitigated.

Well for the last 6 weeks the people of Bradford have not been allowed to meet with others at their house or garden and it has made f**k all difference.

I'd like to see someone up in court the crime of speaking to 6 other people in a group.

Technically for Bradford this is an easing of lockdown.

A lot of the shops are not even enforcing wearing of masks..The police will not enforce this.

Not much more can be done. Just let people crack on now.

The rules suggest over 6 can be maintained if it's for work or educational purposes.

So who want to come to a computer training course on how to use ifollow.

The educational purposes plan will go like this.

2.45pm an introduction into loading ifollow on your browser and connecting it to the pub TV.
3-5pm there will be a break where you can purchase refreshments from the bar whilst ifollow runs.

5pm we will start the second part of the education with how to successfully log out of ifollow, disconnect it from the TV and the session will end.

We should get the new household infection survey tomorrow. It showed that estimated infections had more than halved in the last 6 weeks! It's the only one that was designed to be consistent to try track actual prevalence. Why are they not making decisions off that? It's a shambles.

    You've mentioned this.

Unfortunately no government is gonna just completely ignore a disease just as covid which can be restricted in severity.
