They seem to have a 1 size fits all box , i have to drink lactosse free milk - avoid Potatoes - etc , despite me filling in the online form i still get food that's not healthy for me , i've pointed out a couple of times on the website but they still send it . My biggest problem though is missed hospital visits ( vital ) and my perscriptions , prior to lockdown i asked for an extra months supply , my doctor wouldn't do it because he said my treatment needed constant " monitoring " , no contact since 18th of march . Blood test's heart and lung function test's are presently done over the phone , with a " how do you feel " routine .

The withdrawal of healthcare for the everyday people who need health care services that have been withdrawn due to Covid 19 is a disgrace, I would not be surprised if more people died of non treatment than of the virus

My sister in law is undergoing cancer treatment , and is in isolation . Her last 2 visits have been to the Yorkshire clinic at Bingley , she normally goes to the BRI , i do think though that the MSM have filled people with fear about attending Hospitals though , but when you see the large drop in A&E appointments i wonder how many of these are really necessary .

That's appalling about your hospital visits and the tests you're missing. I can't imagine that this is a national issue since Hancock has already said that non-Covid patients shouldn't feel restricted from accessing the NHS. I had to visit my local surgery for a blood test recently and it was all done quickly and efficiently and with minimal contact. And my GP gave me the results 72 hours later. My friend who lives in a different area to me also had to go to hospital for a planned day procedure and again it was all handled very carefully and properly. He did comment that the hospital itself was like the Marie Celeste and the only minor issue was that his wife who took him to the hospital wasn't allowed to step into the hospital! So it can be done if properly organised and managed by the NHS.

I hope you get the issues resolved because if not and it is a wider issue, there will be lots of people like yourself who will become part of a backlog once hospitals return to a new form of normality.

@Dennis@Dennis , I agree but i wonder how many arn't turning up through genuine worries ? I dont live in a Large city so the hospital care is a bit limited , my nearest Large hospital is Carlisle but its a 70 mile round trip , so most of my appointments are at the local " cottage " hospital which although handy is limited in the services in can provide .

I'm sure you're correct about people's genuine concerns. And I'm also convinced that particularly in A&E units, these concerns are also acting as a filter in reducing the numbers of non-emergency cases.

My mother who is 90 and in mixed health has to visit her local hospital for an appointment with a consultant. From picking up the issue in a blood test to getting in to see the oncologist has taken 12 working days. It shows what can happen when the NHS isn't overwhelmed as it usually is and that things can happen quickly. Of course, what my mother can't see is how many appointments have been cancelled or postponed by concerned patients which has allowed this.

The majority of NHS trusts took the advice from around late March to cancel all non urgent outpatient appointments and routine surgeries to free up the staff and beds to deal with Covid 19.
We currently have no healthcare really despite the government saying go if you need to. Yes people go if you’ve lost an arm in an accident but the general healthcare has literally disappeared. It was probably the right call but a sad state of affairs it was the only way we could cope.

It wasn't the right call at all and Hancock urgently needs sacking. Other things can cause death and treatment for those things wee ignored. It was only until recently when they felt the NHS was coping it was like remember we are here for all. The message was wrong! Everyone who needed to go to hospital should have been told from the start that they should.

@Offside@Offside hope you're ok mate and I wish you well.

I agree is not the right call in that sense. But due to such poor planning and preparation we literally had no choice but to move doctors and nurses over to protect the hospitals from being overrun. it’s catch 22 but it’s a mess our government created and it was our only option I believe

It's a very frank and forthright view of the Govt's handling of the Covid 19 pandemic. There's been lots of rhetoric and fine words from the politicians which has helped to appease all of us. Unfortunately Covid 19 doesn't listen to the rhetoric and the good intentions. It gets on with its own job of infecting as many of us humans as possible.

It's good science and proper public health procedures which will get us through this and not the intervention of politicians who seem content with taking the scientific and medical advice and using it for their own political purposes. It was a key moment when the PM stopped his own two key scientific and medical advisers from answering questions on the lockdown advice. It demonstrated so well that the nonsense of 'we're just following the science' is just that and designed to transfer the blame for the dreadful handling of the crisis away from the politicians.

Re: A&E visits, my cousin is a senior paramedic, and part of her job is to make decisions on where to send ambulances etc..They’re not getting the usual idiots ringing up or visiting because they’ve got an headache, definitely...But, as you can imagine, road accidents have been almost nonexistent, as have workplace accidents and sport related injuries. But, the biggest drop is alcohol related, no ones going out and getting pissed up on a Weekend anymore.

Nothing to do with them contracting a virus, more to do with a negative experience.

My wife and I are classed as key workers in a family business. My wife decided to temporarily stop working so she could keep the kids at home and school them.
It’s was a hard decision and not really my choice but I left it up to her to decide.
