This is my point in a nutshell, ignoring people dying and the actual real world because you're too wrapped up in ideology.

The point is Dave, that there is more to being a government than just getting Brexit done. You were enjoying their Billy Big Balls talk in January because you believe that the EU will cave in if threatened and you don't care if we end up with a massive economic gamble on a No Deal Brexit. It remains to be seen whether all this bluster actually produces any concessions or whether the EU sticks to its guns.
Good governments, of any persuasion, have a balance of experience and political views. Even Thatcher had moderates like Clarke and Howe in her cabinet to balance the right wing headbangers like Tebbit and Joseph.
But Johnson put his eggs in one basket -purging experienced, competent ministers who weren't part of the Brexit bandwagon and promoting total crackpots like Priti Patel and Raab, the Brexit secretary who didn't know that most of our EU trade happens between Dover and Calais.
Let's not forget that Johnson was probably the worst Foreign Secretary in living memory. So expecting him to make sound judgements and stand up to be counted when difficult decisions are needed is probably asking too much. Because all his political history shows that he is only really interested in vanity projects and populist decisions. When the tough stuff happens, he disappears.

IMO anyone who believes that anyone who voted Tory at the last GE and then clapped for carers on a Thursday at 8PM is a hypocrite, is an extreme view. Especially when the reason people are clapping is to say thank you to those who are knowingly putting themselves in harms way to look after the sick and elderly. For you to politicise that show of genuine support and gratitude is crass IMO.

You might find this manifesto pledge encouraging or you might not.

I haven’t clapped once, and I don’t intend to, I think it’s virtue signalling bollocks, I don’t need to make a noise on my doorstep to show my appreciation. Also, that care badge is a terrible idea, it’s lazy propaganda that diverts attention from the real issues.

I must be an extremist too.

Depends on your viewpoint. If you think all tory voters who want to show their appreciation in this way are hypocrites then I would say that's an extreme view. That my opinion.

    [/QUOTE]

My reply was to this quote from YungNath :
The problem being hes stuffed his govt full of pro brexit yes men idiots who were employed for their loyalties and not capabilities, so the whole govt is weak. Can't name a single cabinet member I'd trust to make me a cup of tea at this stage.
We call all put examples up of MPs we think aren't up to the job Diane Abbott, Emily Thornberry, the first couldn't give an answer of what the cost of getting the amount of police officers back on the beat when asked by Andrew Neil and the classic mumbling of Thornberry on QT when asked if the Labour party got into power what would their policy be on Brexit and she said we'd renegotiate with the EU then tell the electorate they didn't support it and would offer staying in, so lets not say the dummies are all Tories.
Yes I thought negotiations took a different turn when Frost was chief negotiator unfortunately this virus is far more important and has put Brexit on the back burner that's understandable, watching the way a so called united group of countries have gone on throwing Italy and Spain to the dogs, I believe the UK could be in an stronger position after this shocking virus is sorted.
Billy Big Balls you say I'd suggest it was just a different negotiating team that were not prepared to be talked down to as Mays negotiators were, then again you and I both know May was trying to keep both parts of the Tory party sweet, once the Tory manifesto said they would honour the referendum and the other parties were playing silly buggers saying little apart from the Lib/Dems and Green it was no contest for us Brexiteers.

Yeah he seemed quite good tbf its the first time Ive seen him on a daily briefing today (cos I havent been watching the days he has been on), as you said didn't try and tell us anything he didn't know for certain himself but offered useful insight when appropriate.Hancock however is something else. That used to making it up he blagged himself into forgetting the word for press conference.

don’t know why you keep tagging me everytime the difference between counts gets mentioned. I acknowledged it straight away, possibly one of the first to mention that the numbers only included NHS hospital deaths. On the other hand it isn’t a count of deaths caused by CV19 either, it is a count of people that have died in hospital and have tested positive.

You may well be as you are calling out all people who clap as being self centered doo gooders . One step further than Hoochy.

We had a poster ( I cant accurately recall who it was) recently saying we should let all old people who have the virus die as its a waste of time keeping them alive. I mean WTAF.

Yeah that Tom Moore is a great example of the mistake being made by the NHS in letting elderly people live as long as they can.
    Keighley lad as well.
