So in tbe Autumn we play in the new uefa nations league. There's a comp for each group winner in the summer of 19. Each group winner banks a place in the euro20 playoffs too in case they don't automatically qualify from the normal qualification leagues.

Baffling is all this.

I never discussed the final before we'd got there, my conscience is clear. I even found myself agreeing a bit with Roy Keane, but then again I do find it hard to not like Wrighty's blind optimism where England are concerned.

 

Not really sure how I feel this morning . Deflated and gutted but also had a few brilliant weeks and we did well to reach the semi final.Russia and particularly Moscow has been fantastic . All flights and hotels cancelled for the weekend. Carnt bring myself to go to the 3rd place play off . Fly home today via Turkey . 10 hours **shock Spent a fortune but couldn’t care less

I don't remember it either - I didn't watch it after the heart-breaking defeat to Germany. Doubt I will watch on Saturday either as it is a waste of everyone's time

Think we lost 2-1 with Platt scoring ours with a header from a corner. Remember he hardly celebrated. Flat atmosphere like a testimonial or a friendly. Pointless game.

 

Yeah, i guess it is, hard to pick yourself up for another game. I'll still watch it on Saturday though and be rooting for Croatia in the final on sunday, though I expect France to win.

Pretty good assessment of the feeling there IB.

Safe trip back FG - must have been a fantastic experience. I went to a number of games at France '98: Marseille, Toulouse, Lens and St Etienne. The Marseille game was not the best time of my life by any stretch and the Argentina game at St Etienne was the infamous Beckham sending off where we lost on penalties
