Sadly I can't listen at work but I can get in early and knock off early and watch the 2nd half of the 3pm. Sadly not today though as I am taking the car to the garage tonight for its service and MOT tomorrow. Need a newer one I think - what are those Kia Niros like @Skyebantam ?

 

We've gone for the Kia Sportage coming in three weeks. We went to the kia garage but speaking to the guy i think we'll hang fire on the niro think there may be a few changes and updates to performance on a charge in the coming yrs. it couldn't tow either, this one we've gone for can tow the wee boat and is in our price range in terms of monthly payment for a diesel, happy to just hire and return in 4 yrs. hopefully it'll be ok we just want hassle free motoring, doesn't everyone? A new car more likely to give us that given our mileage, 80k in four yrs. fingers crossed.

Don't think you will regret it assuming you have got a decent price for the lease. I looked at a Mazda CX-5 at the weekend which I was very impressed with - all the toys: power hatch, heated wheel and seats, electric seats, Head-up display, satnav etc - can get for c£25.5K so about £20K after trade-in.

Ha, rich, i wish. In a brilliant world you wouldn't need one! The hire with vanarama seemed quite a lot cheaper than any finance deal on a new car. It's still a lot of money per month whatever we do, just repairs on our current car are starting to make the monthly finance payment plus repairs cost a fair bit. It's all ridiculous anyway, they give you bugger all once you drive a car off the forecourt. It's good if you understand it all, that's why i asked on here. The days of a second hand runabout seem gone. It's only since i've lived up here we've had a new or newish car but i don't fancy breaking down miles from a garage.

 

Anyway, it's all tempered by how uncool this new car is.

I have been running round in a VW Golf for 8 years, brand new when I bought it. People seem to lease cars now! Anyway when it packs in might buy a new one.

It's the the mrs' car, i just nod and agree in reality. There's usually not a lot of value left in our standardish car (astra at the mo) as our mikeage is so high. Tbh, it's a gamble, good to hear your car has given you good VFM onside.

We kept a Golf for 25 years as a third car run about. Bought it new in 88 for wife's birthday.
Never had a problem and in the end we gave it away with 64k miles. We're getting old (no power steering).

My mate bought a BMW off ebay for £450 when drunk. I think it was a really old 1 or 2 series. Walnut finish inside, ashtrays etc, seats that were hotter than the sun in warm weather. It was a heap but ran superbly for a year.
