    During my last spell of retirement I managed to read through all the Terry Pratchets, Harry Potters and Game of Thrones. Favourite classical author is Thomas Hardy and favourite book, Jude The Obscure. Wife was an English teacher, so house and attic heaving with books.

    Just going out to pressure wash my bin. Smells like someone dropped a dead fish in there. Have to leave my bin for collection at the top of the lane, so it's vulnerable to sabotage.
