Still here, but after witnessing a feisty exchange 'tween mother and son (went along the lines of "f*** off back to australia", latter to former) i've deduced that the removals company, who you'll recall I googled, are shipping the furniture to, indeed, australia. The 6-8 week shipping duration (also googled) would explain their erstwhile presence here.

During one of my character-building summer chats with her I learnt that they had moved back here from Australia, which gives my theory credence.

Just perusing a lovely FB post yesterday about ‘some Asians’ seen in a car, in Portree. If they have come from abroad, maybe they are here advising us on how to control a pandemic? Some lovely comments, ‘put the police on the bridge they can tell who’s ‘not local’. i’m sure if they are visiting and not supposed to, they won’t be the only ones, that group is focussed on though. God knows how these people would cope in somewhere with a high rate of covid, but anything to get some traction on FB.
