I can understand that. I'll be honest othrr than high school visits I'm not sure what other transitioning stuff they do (I'll ask). With high schools being closed dont know if the visits will happen, or even wouldhappen if they were open

 

Interesting to note that schools such as Eton and Harrow won’t be re-opening until at least September. Probably waiting to see whether Covid19 is going to strike in state schools. Clearly the junior toffs need to be protected so they can survive to run the country in the future.

 

They connect more around events and getting them in for days but also evenings and over summer holidays. They seem to be quite cooperative round here. The new head of year teacher comes into the primary school to visit too. Even give them a book to read and work to do over the holidays! Plus there's the whole leaving assembly and all that stuff which is a lot after 6 years or so in a school! Especially when it all stops so quickly. It was a Wednesday that it was announced that Friday would be the last day. They didn't have chance to process it all.

 

Our old primary, year 6 kids do the last 2 weeks of school year at their new upper school for transition. Brilliant idea. Think they have their last day back at primary for leavers assembly, goodbyes, writing on each others shirts, crying etc.

 

That's a good idea.

All I remember about primary school is playing footy and drinking milk.

You were lucky. All I remember is getting belted by our psychopath of a head teacher.

 

By old primary, i meant our kids old primary. Our eldest just had a day integration in the summer term, but there youngest had the 2 weeks. She really benefited from it.

We had middle schools back in my day. None of this 2 school nonsense.

Oh I attended a small, church village school at first. Head still caned there. We spent ages making a pencil drawing reconstruction of part of the bayeux tapestry. It was proper old school with classes of mixed ages. I spent months avoiding doing some maths that I couldn't understand. We also used to have handwriting classes.

Thank god we moved back to Yorkshire when I was 10.

 

Anyway, here I am "managing my disruption" with easyjet.
