    Might go and see my folks at the weekend for the day if weather is good enough for an outdoor chat. 4hr round trip but not seen them since mum fractured her hip. I will admit it now that I will sit outside with both of them at once in their garden rather than one at a time in the local park.

    it must be very difficult being far away especially after her op etc. The government message was clear as mud, are they saying you can meet someone / family in a park, but not their / your garden? I’m guessing they are just trying to put everyone in the same boat, those that don’t have a garden etc? It’s tricky because if you follow travel rules, avoid unnecessary stops on the way and see them in their garden, at the distance specified, the risk seems less than them and you, going out to a public park. I guess they are just wanting general rules, as muddy as they are, to cover most situations. Best of luck hope she’s doing ok.

    Wouldn't have made the journey without last week's change in policy but the one meeting one in a park thing would be ridiculous especially given my mum's hip and the fact she is 75 and my dad over 80. Not planning in staying over or going into any house or coming within probably 3m of them

    I could go and see my parents, their front garden is large enough for the social distancing to work. However, my Dad has a shielding letter and does not want to meet up.
