I liked Wood but are you seriously saying you thought he was better than Meredith?

 

I'm not sure I'd necessarily agree Kev. I thought Jacobs was excellent at times going forward and given the level he played at I'd have to put Jacobs ahead of Meredith.

 

How far north is he not coming?

I liked Connor, decent full back at our club at the wrong time. Good luck to him.

 

Can't speak for @Wakefield Bantam but I assume they just forget about Mezza, 'cause there's just no way...

 

@Petrov Ha yes, I forgot about Meredith, but I have to say if I was to pick my all time City XI then Jacobs would be my left back for sure.

 

He won’t want to come North. Think his wife is a Doctor at one of the main London hospitals which is why he went to Orient.
Can see him at Colchester Sutton or Wimbledon.

 

Would have loved him back. Was great to see him progressing when with us, and too bad he hit a bit of a rut. Still too good for us at the moment. Tranmere have got a good un.

 

Meredith was better going forward , Wayne was a better defender. I couldn’t compare them on that basis.

A difficult call for sure Dave. Yes agree it was a different level though, which normally swings it for me.

 

Jakes gets my vote. Meredith had a fantastic engine but his marauding runs were often let down by a poor cross. However his attacking runs also tended to overshadow what a very good defender he was.
Also let's not forget the victory away at Wigan under McCall when Luke Hendrie put in a fine performance at LB..

Wellens brought in a player he's worked with a ton, so that signalled the end of Wood's usefulness there.

Not a bad player, not great, but should still be able to have a solid career.

 

Thought Wood was our best left back since Wayne Jacobs.

I liked Connor Wood and thought he'd play higher. Seems like he's really struggled down at Orient though.

 

This talk about geography deciding players clubs. Is it really a thing? I used to live in Cardiff with my Mrs, but work in Burton on Trent. Five days a week away, Friday drive 3h home, Sunday 3h back to Burton. Was tough, but I/we wouldn't have done it unless it made financial and career sense. She had her job down in Cardiff, and then eventually she got a job in Nottingham and we bought a place and relocated. Loads of factors though. Not the same for everyone.

Tranmere though - not so far from us at all. Especially when he must have put a few roots down in Bradford.

 

Is it a North London Borough? I'm never quite sure.
