Have you ever considered that Danny might not want you?

 

Do we think Connolly will start today? Does he operate on the right or left? If he’s as quick as reports say he is, he could be an integral part of the squad. Simply getting past full backs and getting the ball in the box is what we need. A decent delivery naturally helps but I’d like to see getting the ball into Vaughan and Donaldson. Both forwards are good enough to create space and get on the end of crosses, just got to get it into them.

Hoping Connolly and Pritchard are two missing parts we’ve been needing........aside of that illusive CM!

 

I think he's a right winger but I'd be surprised if he started. I think bowyer will play 352 again but if he was to play with wingers instead then Connolly could well start as I'm not sure ismail is fit enough to start yet. But pace off the bench could be a vital weapon too - something we've had none of so far.

 

Gut feeling - Pritchard will start. Connolly on the bench.

If Wood is continuing at left back we need to work out a way of scoring that doesn't depend on his crosses as I'm pretty sure he'll be less effective if he's closer to the half way line than the penalty box.

 

I'm with you, in the Bolton game he was one of the better players and looks the type of player who will do his share of defending when necessary. Early days but anything but a win today will be a downer we have to make visiting teams think well get nowt at Valley Parade.

Enjoy watching Connolly, but nowhere near League One level.

He's got bags of pace, and his control is decent, but has shown little in crossing and shooting departments.

Good lower league winger, but until he adds some legitimate threat, his main ability is shifting the ball from one half to the other - useful under certain circumstances, but League One requires a bit more.

 

We are in league two, not league one.

He's given us a much needed boost when he came in, I think he will play a big part for us in the second half of the season.

That is why I am saying he is nowhere near League One.

Because his parent club are in League One.

 

For me, Connolly should be an impact player coming off the bench. Using his pace against tired defenders.

His pace is all he's really got. No real awareness, poor first touch, mixed crossing ability.

 

I think that's the sort of winger you'll generally get at this level though. I can only think of 2 wingers who have impressed me this season for other sides, Kirk at Crewe and Isgrove at swindon who you can see have real technical quality in them. But other than that 90% of the rest will be like Connolly - loads of pace but pretty unpredictable other than that.

 

Connolly looks poor at finishing and crossing to me.

And he's faster than any winger I've seen at VP.

Very exciting though, one of my favourite players.

 

Danny Mayor has been the most impressive wide man I've seen this season.

It's a fair point, and I'd still rather have him than Scannelll. But I'd like to see a more consistent wide man brought in if we can

 

What’s up with Scannell? I notice he hasn’t started for Blackpool since he joined them.
