I can see most clubs having to do this while things are up in the air. No club can justify signing a player without knowing whats going on especially if they are in a position the league they will be in is up in the air.

The interesting statement in the chairman's piece was "It is for that reason that I have had to take the very difficult decision of not re-signing a number of players that under normal circumstances I would have been determined to re-sign.". He later went on to say "I would have no hesitation in reversing the decision if there were to be a dramatic change of circumstances.".

I agree, especially sad when they are 5th. If they drop out (if the season continues) we will know why.
