The problem with Reeves is he has to do 2 or 3 pirouettes with the ball before he does anything just to say look at me I'm Jakes Reeves. Gets dispossessed countless times. Can see why Hopkin wasn't keen.

When we eventually we get Donaldson back who can hold the ball up and bring in the midfield higher up. We have also been without our main attacking midfielder all season hopefully he will be involved soon. The last time we won away was the day Donaldson was injured

Was important not lose tonight against a side just below us. I'm afraid the performances ain't gonna improve with bowyer in charge so all about getting results now. Cheltenham game next tues is a big one if we can somehow get 7 points from next 3 games mite look a bit better for a top 3 push. Here's hoping.

I get that and a good point and 'improved' performance tonight but just like Saturday, we can't disguise the fact, that neither of these teams have real decent form. Being unbeaten is fine but had Colchester won 3 and lost 3 over their last 6, they would have accumulated more points.

Of our last 3 ( Inc Crawley) opponents, they have accumulated 4 wins in 18 games. That's not great by any stretch of the imagination, I'm sure you would agree.

We have accumulated just the two points from 9 available, against the said 3.

I don't see how you can't tell the difference between a team that has been rated all season, had some very good cup results and are 13 unbeaten, in comparison to the all too familiar sight of a team that gets in the play-offs, fails, expects to kick on and find themselves in the lower half of table

The injuries excuse doesn't wash with me, it's a lazy assumption. Every injury we have had, we've had an adequate replacement to come in for them.

I never thought we'd walk the league, but I expected a team to challenge for the title.

What I'm sick of watching is a manager with zero interest in winning a game. His substitutions today (or lack of them) was embarrassing in a game which was there for the taking. But no, boring Bowyer is only interested in clean sheets, couldn't care less about scoring goals or entertaining the fans.

It does show they are hard to beat and over the season they have had some good scalps. Incidentally WOTP said Scunthorpe were top of the away form league over the last six matches

I'm not saying Reeves was the sole poor performer though am I? I'm saying with Cooke in that time we win it, because he brings a more attacking energy to the squad, and without Reeves's poor performance I think we could've had something from this game. Just because all the blame can't be placed on one player, doesn't mean none of it can, and that nothing would've been different had a better player been in their place.

We even had Doyle dropping back to the halfway line to do Reeve's job!

Only 9 shots on target in our last 5 games, yeah because we're feeding off of scraps upfront, and we also happen to have absolutely shocking finishers who couldn't hit the sea from a ship.

No chances on goal because of no creativity or attacking energy in the midfield.

Quoting form stats is meaningless. Scunthorpe were bang out of form and battered us on Saturday as did Crawley who were also out of form. Tonight was a better performance of the three although still worryingly lacking in the chances created department. Doyle again with no chances created.

    We're shite.

WE SHOULD BE PISSING THIS LEAGUE.
    We must gain promotion AUTOMATICALLY.

But you're happy being in league 2.

When you look at how Bowyer has used Doyle, it's hard to put any credence on any of the players weve had missing as being a key factor.

    Nonsense

Any team would miss not been able to pick Devitt or Donaldson for the last three months. Never mind, Prichard and Ismail

Creatively, I'm struggling to think of any players who are better than three of those midfielders at the club. And we haven't even considered what a miss Donaldson's menacing front man prowess is

I think fans really need to dig down and consider the reasons for the lack of chance creation as opposed to taking the easy route and blaming the manager in every post

I'm amazed, that with all that talent missing, we're in with a chance of the play-offs, never mind automatic

Such an eloquent post. Bowyer, clearly needs your, er, motivation in the dressing room

I don't think we should be pissing this league. But, it'd be nice if we at least had a go.

Taken in total isolation and not looking at the actual performance, the result of a draw against a top eight club away from home, is acceptable.

However it is the poor home form, and the crap results against lower end clubs away, which is really costing us. Losing at Creepy, drawing against Scunthorpe, drawing at both Carlisle and Leyton Orient, and drawing at against Salford at home, have cost us a lot of points, roughly 7-10 points lost in those matches alone.

So it is all about perspective and balance. Somehow (given other teams are not putting runs together), we are still in the top six. Unbelievable Jeff!!!!

I know all that. I keep up with such stats in the nature of my job. But that doesn't take away the fact we have 2 points in 9.

3 defeats in 15. Port Vale, Plymouth and Crawley.
