I've enjoyed going to games, it's just the miserable trail back up VP at 4.45 that spoils the day ...

We have a young very inexperienced CEO and with respect a chairman who in football terms has just learned we attack a different end in the 2nd half
No one at the club has the where with all to correct him !!

Gillingham will buy again with new owners and Doncaster owner has promised a large increase in budget. He says he owe's them after losing only 26 season ticket holders after relegation.
Forest Green will back Big Dunc in the summer. If MK Dons come down, then suddenly that's a very tough league.borderlescott, Citymatt and Onside like this. -

I have absolutely no idea why Rupp is still here, other than a personal need to put the club back where it was when he bought it - top end of League One, possibly even Championship.
After some years to think about it, I can't knock him for that.
However, I sincerely hope he seriously considers any positive bid from a more capable and competent source. The man could have left us to rack and ruin, but he's decided he's made this mess and he's doing what he can to get us out of it.
Unfortunately, he's still a novice and his abilities (beyond financial) are limited. -

Just for example this quite about Millwall's finances
"Millwall made an overall pre-tax loss of £12.6 million, albeit slightly down on 2021’s £ 13.8 million. Compared to many clubs at Millwall’s level, their losses are relatively modest, but they are competing in a division where boards and owners are willing to gamble on promotion by paying high wages that are mostly unsustainable.
Millwall are one of the lowest cash generators in the Championship, so it is a major challenge to compete with opponents who are just out of the Premier League. They are also operating in a city awash with football clubs. The club’s neighbourhood, which has a very varied demographic, has a relatively high poverty rate."
I know that there is debate about the stadium ownership. But the current annual rent would be a minor cost overall if we were to reach the Championship. Perhaps a bigger issue is that the stadium needs some decent tlc and that isn't cheap.
Any "investor" would probably need to pay in the region of £8-10m for the club and I would argue invest at least that again (FFP notwithstanding) to make us viable to compete at a higher level. Going by the situation for many clubs in the Championship it would then need £10m+ a year to sustain.
We do have a great fanbase, but it isn't going to be 18,000 paying £400+ for season tickets. The economic reality of Bradford is a major stumbling block.
Wrexham's story is great but I think they will maybe get to league 1 and slow down as their financial clout becomes relatively diminished.
I do believe the club has undergone a massive change in the last year or so. It is deeply frustrating that we gave away a late equaliser yesterday, and failed to turn up second-half against Swindon. But I don't think that is anything to do with the club's mindset or approach in the last year.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
Look who are above us. We should be walking this league.
We have an owner that’s done nothing but fail the club. Most of clubs would have got him out by now but some on here think he’s king.
The club make out they are doing people a favour because of the economy in Bradford. Sorry, that’s bollocks.

What would any prospective buyer get for buying Bradford city
The name of the club only
What is the name of the club worth ?
How much would he have to put in to clear the debt of the club & to get this club in the championship
Then have to buy the ground back & build a training ground
All that & buy Rupp out
All this and you haven't got a penny backwho is foolish enoughHulmebantam and Biker like this. -

To get out of league 1 would require massive investment. Ipswich have a championship budget and have spent 7 figures on a left back from Leeds.
We will not become a championship club without having a very very wealthy owner regardless of how many season tickets we sell.Tony Wilkinson and Hulmebantam like this. -
We would need cup runs/player sales and a great Manager to get close.Onside87 and Hulmebantam like this. -
Maybe there is an understanding that Rupp will fund the club more aggressively if he can see the club going in the right direction. From a business perspective, you can understand that. Maybe his trust in Sparks is growing after his recent visits to games.Hulmebantam and Onside like this. -
