maybe the issue has been the quality of the CCTV at grounds where it has happened, including VP. Big shout out to Macclesfield for investing in a decent set up.

No matter how dangerous, or not, in your opinion, there is no reason or place to bring them into a football stadium.

In my opinion all pyrotechnics can be dangerous and run the risk of burning someone. Do we, of all fans, really want to see a fan burnt at a football match. As well as the risk of being burnt, the acrid smoke is a nuisance, and for some fans, very irritating to their respiratory system.

I am all for banning fans caught letting them off

Tbh though, the club (and away clubs) have to take some of the blame. How are these yobs getting the flares into the ground? If it takes a full body search, then fair enough. Only a matter of time before someone is going to get hurt by a flare gone wrong, or the game disrupted because of smoke getting on the pitch.

And, as if by magic, they all disappear from the online booking system .

This should have happened a while back after incidents at other games but at least banning orders now being dished out should hopefully put possibly future incidents to bed.

Contrary to common delusional belief, our away atmospheres are far worse than any of our Yorkshire neighbours’ matches, and have been for a long time.

Surely this proves the clubs are working hand-in-hand to catch these idiots.

If they think they can get away with it because it's an away game, tough luck lads!

I guess you could undertake a little experiment. Perhaps let a flare off in your house and see how it goes. You could film the this. Clearly you would have some evidence as to the level of injury. Perhaps you need to do this on a number of occasions, so you can build up a statistical set of data. You could then present a paper to the Health & Safety Executive, the EFL/FA and other organisations who set up governance. I wait to see how this progresses.

Meanwhile you concentrate on cycling safely. Perhaps you could cycle through an area where people let flares off? Surely it can’t do any harm?

You don't need any more data. The safety laws are sufficiently clear on the use of flares and incendiaries. Firstly, they are illegal in enclosed areas and in football stadia in particular. Secondly, they burn at incredibly high temperature and even at the lowest level of incendiary, a Type 1 which are the least dangerous, it's illegal for anybody other than a person who has the appropriate licence to even possess a flare or smoke bomb in an enclosed area. It's simple.

If you want to condone our yobs doing something which can cause injury to others then by all means continue to encourage them to act illegally in the name of creating atmosphere!

The kids of today cannot be told, they don’t follow rules and think they are above the law.
On Thursday some of these cretins who are over 18 will have a vote. God help us

If I remember correctly YOU don't even attend games so really no need to get involved in the right or wrongs of pyrotechnics in sports grounds.

Just seen a post on twitter from a fan sent a letter from the club threatening a ban for having been identified as posting online comments supporting the use of pyrotechnics. Interesting developments.

Well with the morons baiting the police and the stewards, climbing on the wall at the front, standing all game in the walkway and setting off at least two smoke bombs on Saturday added to the pitch encroachments at recent home games you could see this coming.
What next, reduced away ticket allocations, a members only away policy, etc, etc.

The moronic few tar everyone with the same treatment.

What have sensible folk said for the last 18 months...actions have consequences, not just for you but others as well.

Somebody mentioned earlier about reduced ticket allocations at away grounds, I don't know how Scunny and Grimsby can afford what they must be paying Lincs police given the gates they get, as well as all the stewards....
