Their father was business savvy. The way in which they waste money leads me to conclude that the underlings are anything but savvy.

The parallel between the Glazers and Rupp is that they know the upside of their clubs hasn't nearly been reached. In the case of United, they've been run horrendously for 15 years, and largely so have we. If either club gets close to being successful then the value of their clubs increases hugely. They'll know that the super league is coming and the advent of Saudi money means cash will come in, in ever greater amounts. In our case, a competent owner very easily get this club to the championship amd from their, mega riches are in touching distance. Joking aside, in the current climate we're probably worth 10m, and I maintain that for a serious and wealthy individual we're a huge attraction.

Don’t disagree, one iota. That’s the difference , the Manchester club owe the debt whereas MrRupp probably owns the debt ( if he borrowed to pay for City , I suspect he didn’t?) . If he doesn’t he will need to see a profit which even then would hardly cover inflation. He’s not stupid, and similarly but for different reasons , no rush to sell as long as he doesn’t need to “ support” the club.

    A weird world RT?

Please please be true…. I’d welcome anyone with just a modicum of strategic planning and who will offer a genuine vision to get behind.

Other than ridiculously cheap tickets with sell sell sell mantra and then every last penny goes on journey men free agents, random youth loans and generally other teams cast offs.

The cheap season ticket deal has helped grow the club commercially and built the fanbase to a point where we regularly get crowds of 20k.
Not even in the championship in the early 2000s could we do that.
I would suggest that cheap season tickets will be what has helped Rupp potentially double his money.

Although I agree if the rumour turns out to have any credibility the new owners will hopefully realise it has to continue certainly as long as we're in either league one or two, with a slight rise until we achieved Championship status.

What are you basing the 10m on though? He brought for 6m and we have gone backwards.

Utd at least brought top players and have won a few things.

No way is our club worth 10m.

The FA and the government recently negotiated a new permit so that means who give at least 35% of minutes to players eligible to play for England can sign players that wouldn't normally meet the work permit criteria. In the Premier League and Championship teams can register 4 players and in league 1 and 2 it drops to 2. These permits last for a year at which point the player can apply for a new permit or a work permit. If we were to become a feeder this would suit us well as we could take 2 players on loan for a season then they go back.

It is if someone is prepared to pay that amount. Plus anyone who buys have to go for promotion if they want to realise their investment. So it is £10 million plus investment if we get promoted.

We've only gone backwards in league positions and that has minimal affect on the price. From a business perspective we are light years ahead of where we were under the chuckles, wit annual deficits and needing cup runs to survive. Our income is hugely bigger our crowds are 40% higher and we have no debt.

Your problem is you refuse to judge the book by anything other than its cover.

If there was 10 million on the table you wouldn't see Rupp for dust that's a certainty
Making 3.3 million (supposedly) on an investment he has absolutely no interest in is a no brainer
Any new owner would be buying the potential of the club (same as Rupp) hopefully with a mission to take it further
He would be a very lucky man to get his "asking" price for what is essentially a permit to play in the football league and the ability to generate funds from selling the name

For all the stick Ryan gets you do have wonder if a little more effort had gone in during the Julian & Marks time we could have done so much better with off field finance, did they believe employing a commercial manager could be covered by rag tag and bobtail, or did we employ one my memory isn't great with regards backroom staff under Julian & Mark ?.

It was indeed. That's a decent attack from BCAFC with Rackstraw, Leighton and McAnearney.

A long time ago but I remember the Twente winger having a good "monks" haircut he was also not very tall but he was a standout player.

It's all subjective. Market value based on assets would be worth less than 10m. 10m is based on potential, and in particular the potential to monetise the fan base. Ultimately, any asset is worth whatever an interested party is willing to pay.

Quite possibly but it shows what can be achieved with a little bit more dedication, if and its a big if there are interested parties, being self sufficient with even more potential if were successful would be a very good situation for any new potential owner.
