I didn't realise Martin Jol was RKC Waalwijk manager during the time we played them.


When you watch this game we played it like a pre-season friendly, very little tempo to our game.

 

Long shot, and I’ve been digging about. Anyone have any footage of the Man City 2-2 City match probably about 98/99? Pretty sure Steiner scored for us.
Trying to show the oldest boy what those old Man City away games were like (pre Etihad), big away following, tight games (which they usually marginally edged).

 

I used to record Harry Gration on Look North (I know) when he always showed our games-will try to find the VHS somewhere. Got loads of footage on there.

For you young uns out there to record any TV on VHS you had to kneel down by the VHS recorder (They were always placed under the TV) and press Rec and Play at the same time and hope you had not done it too late to miss any vital footage.

 

Blue moon chippy was always worth a visit.

 

Them were the days, same with top twenty on a Sunday evening, put your tape recorder on pause and hoped you started it again to get the start of the next record without Alan "Fluff" Freeman making his pop pickers comment.

 

I used to do that, but well after Fluff's time. Once, I'd recorded one in winter and was listening to it again in summer. They said it was snowing so I went running downstairs and told my parents it was snowing in London in June, then realised I was listening to an old tape !!!
