I'm gonna stick my neck on the line and say that taking Banks off isn't the reason we then conceded.

Everyone was sore at the time, and an attempt to see the game out with a more defensive unit obviously didn't work out the way Hughes wanted.

But it wasn't the substitution that made that happen. I'm surprised this hysteria hasn't died down a little since then. The substitution just limited our chances of getting back into the game, which we clearly shouldn't have had to do with an extra defender on the pitch in the first place.

We aren't in League Two because we took Banks off for a few minutes ahead of a potential date at Wembley FFS.

I just don't see how it actually affected anything.

If we hadn't made that sub, I can't imagine Banks would have somehow prevented Carlisle scoring.

I know why it was unpopular, but let's be honest that sub =/= losing.

Which bits didn't you witness? The segrattions gates were knocked through just before all of the police rushed into the concourse at 90 minutes full time. Then when fans were forced back into the stands someone from one of the seats at the top of the tunnel area to the stand spat down on a steward and towards our fans were at the top of the steps.

The spitting. But you can't speak for our fans in plural if only one person is spitting (which is atrocious in itself btw - no excuses)

You can't state someone might be exaggerating when you claim a whole stand chanting? That clearly is taking the moral high ground. We ain't playing some game of moral top trumps here, each club in the country has it's own set of fans who spout tedious crap at football games and that includes us. And yes, over the years I have heard racist comments from Bradford fans. Not many I add but it's still there.

Clearly my sarcasm went over your head RT, maybe I should’ve put a rolling eyes emoji. Yes I know it wasn’t a whole stand, but it was certainly more than a handful.

As for scoring morality points, I haven’t got time for petty games mate

If i've missed the sarcasm then apologies. I just don't like threads where it ends up as our fan base it better than yours. The common goal should be to eradicate racism from not just football but society in general, unfortunately this will never be allowed to happen. Too many people now invested in it from a career and finance point of view.

In a charge letter dated 21 June 2023 The Football Association (“The FA”) alleged that Carlisle United, during the EFL League Two match against Bradford City on 26 December 2022, failed to ensure spectators and/or supporters (and anyone purporting to be its supporters or followers) conducted themselves in an orderly fashion whilst attending the match.

Accordingly, The FA charged Carlisle United with:

    • “Failing on 26/12/22 to ensure that spectators and/or supporters (and anyone purporting to be its supporters or followers) conduct themselves in an orderly fashion whilst attending the match and do not use words or otherwise behave in a way which is improper, offensive, abusive, indecent, or insulting with either express or implied reference to race contrary to rule E21.1 of the Rules of the Football Association;
    • In addition, The FA alleged that the words and/or behaviour made reference to race contrary to FA rule E21.4.
The misconduct of the Carlisle United supporters was not limited to an isolated incident, but involved three identifiable incidents of offensive and highly insulting racist chanting during the game.

The club admitted the charge in correspondence dated 27/6/23.

The FA Commission concluded it was appropriate and proportionate to issue a financial sanction of £7,500.

In addition, it imposed that an Action Plan in accordance with Annex 1 to the Policy and Guidance was necessary in this case, in order to reduce the risk of further such breaches of FA rule E21.

Carlisle United Football Club was formally warned as to future conduct.
