I can’t wait to find out which mediocre manager has turned us down and what third rate lower league club, with stands the size of my garden shed, he’s turned us down for.

Let’s start at the top….Name this fictitious new owner with £10m to spare when you have “forced Rupp out” .
How do you propose to force him out in the first place?

You said it, so Im merely asking how you plan to achieve your well laid out objective.

Don’t fall in to the naive trap , like others do, of thinking this is somehow defending Rupp, it’s not , so don’t let that cloud your judgment .

No disrespect , but a little short on fact, high on gossip , rumour and speculation. It doesn't highlight anything we don’t already know other than speculating why it’s taken four weeks to get thus far. In other words an amalgamation of this forum and nicely summarises a 4 week potted history of the million words typed so far.

Kev, we are all short of facts as we have been purposely kept in the dark. The very best thing our club can do now is bring someone in who knows the club inside out warts an all to help Sparks sort this shambles out. It will and is painful, but if he is left trying to choose a manager out of the flopsum washed up after other clubs have jumped in and got the best manager, this current shambles will be made to look like a nursery spat between infants. Not to mention if we even remotely look like the next manager might take us into oblivion; In crisis, bring in a man who can sort it out. Call to Baldwin and fast.

 

Why would he accept what is still a pay cut when he could have walked with the cash?

My opinion would be:

Move Sparks to the commercial side, Baldwin in as CEO and recruit a director of football with good knowledge of the lower leagues similar to what Gillingham did with they got out of the mire last season. Oh and of course actually sign a manager.

Then the club will have more of a solid grounding and it gives Rupp time to find the right buyer on his terms.

 

Clemence gone to Gillingham according to reports so it ain't gonna be him, that's if he ever was interviewed.

 

Guessing that would either need some cash from Rupp, or a reduction in other budgets to balance the two extra people both on decent cash.

 

The damning indictment of Sparks tenure is, that despite good numbers through the turnstiles and lots of new 'partners' we currently are no further forward on the pitch than when he took over. That despite numerous changes to management personnel. Not sure our fan base can take another failure.

 

That is the worrying thing. We seemed to have turned into a more professional business off the field but everything on the football side is a shower of shit no matter which manager has been in charge. We have gone through a number of 'good' appointments and also Trueman/Sellars. From what people have said we have had a decent budget and managers seemed to have been given free rein to bring in their own back room staff but it still doesn't happen. Why?

Time to shift Sparks either down/side or out and bring someone with some football knowledge in

Despite what Jason wrote, I think they 100% offered the job to McD. He then said no, and they’ve panicked and put out that statement before he can say so in his post match interview. Even sounds to me like they persuaded him to take charge of last week too.

What an absolute shit show, and Sparks should resign on this recruitment *@?$ up alone.

We’re going to end up just like we are during the final day of the transfer window each season…bringing someone in who we didn’t want, but had to because everything has been put into one basket which then ended up being toppled over.
