i have to admit, under Boreya and Stuart, i didnt really like him and couldnt see what he added. in his new position in the middle of the three, he is an absolute revelation. hats off.

I'm sure I remember Peterborough owner saying what a good player he was, despite they were selling him. Not surprised they wanted a fee. Safe to say he was right.

    3 goals, 6 assists in 27 games.
    Still relatively young at 24.
Think we will see more improvement the next few years.
Needs to hit the target more from around 18 yards imo.

I have liked him from the start, could see the obvious potential in him, however, previous managers have criminally played him in more defensive roles than what we are seeing now, even though most fans could see he was suited to a more attacking role.

Would just like to see him score more goals though.

Agreed. Still loads of improvement in him and played in the right position he'll be effective.

I think the one thing not mentioned though is that he's now playing with better and more intelligent players meaning he has a lot more options when looking up. Good players like Cooke will always look a lot better and more confident when they have players on the same wavelength and making space and intelligent runs.

Thought he might have to go off and change his shorts last night when he realised who he was squaring up to.

How he speaks and plays I think he’s another young leader and character like Paudie, now he’s in his natural position he’s an asset in every way.

He's not bad in a more defensive role, he's particularly good at retaining possession and working his way out of tight spots - which should allow the players around him more space, however like @NorthernMonkey@NorthernMonkey says, he's only now playing with higher quality attacking players, and it's paying off.

Yes, he's doing better in a more advanced role, but he always had chances and constantly missed good opportunities under Stuart. Now, he's one of many getting chances and he's creating far more.

Pleasing thing at the moment is we have quite a few strong leaders in the team, aside from captain O'Donnell, we have the likes of Paudie, Canavan Cooke and Cook

I wonder where we’d be now if only we’d had managers who knew how to play Doyle / Vaughan together.
If only we’d have played with 2 wingers like crankshaw / Vernham.

He's a revelation and epitomises everything that's good about city right now. I have to admit I was underwhelmed by him previously and frustratingly i only saw glimpses of a decent player. I put in the category of 'only in the team due to no other options' ....that was a long list!

But he's really fulfilling his promise. Skilful, quick feet, creative, determined and goals in him.

Did i mention that I like him!

As mentioned above he has come on in leaps and bounds since the new regime was put in place. However, as also mentioned, I feel he should be hitting the target far more often than he does. He is the central attacking midfielder and as such should be getting in and around the box far more than he does. In fact if Rowe is playing and then pulling out wide as he appears to like to do, then Cooke should be looking to slot in through the central striking position and in all probability Rowe would either find him with a pass or he could pick up a rebound off the keeper. Hopefully as things progress and the team gel together even more this will come to pass.

The Cooke situation reminds me very much of Mark Marshall and the transformation he made under Stuart with the right management. I've always thought he was a reasonable pleyer but he's absolutely thriving at the minute. What's really pleasing to see the very abvious bond that's developing within the squad and Callum seems to be right in the thick of it.
