    It's just that the EFL and PFA are not saying much. Just clubs like small clubs like West Ham and Brighton.

    Nothing to report from the EFL really.

    I would like to agree but greed, stupidity and selflessness will prevail and it won't take that long.
    It will just be a smaller pool of teams in the shit pool after a few fold in the upcoming months and years.

    No where did I say that it isn’t possible to move into a second career just that it’s harder when you get older. Especially if they don’t have a nest egg to fall back on that allows them to get qualification in something else or the resources to start a business. Remember that was initially the point of testimonials so that players had seed money for their post football careers (which used to often mean buying a pub). If you have a primary career that has a short shelf life you need to make good money doing it not to fund your life for the next 40+ years but to give you options so you can earn a living

    If there is a bad recession(if!) and the majority of clubs are skint and the quality and quantity of squads are cut to the bone how on earth are you keeping paying customers coming to games as its bad enough City are in the khazi league but if it gets even worse to watch...................what would be the point?

    I'm sure you have thought the same many times over the years you've watched Bradford City, yet you still returned, Masochism maybe or blind loyalty, count me in the latter, although theres a lot to be said for the former;).

    The clever and hardworking guys can easily get a job from within the sports industry after retiring from playing. Social media and the ever expanding thirst for sport on TV has opened up huge opportunities that weren't there even going back just 20 years ago. And you're right, the benefit of being a professional sportsman is having the time and money to train as something else for when that retirement time comes, i know as a tradesman i would not be in a position to do that.

    Makes you wonder if a large number of clubs will fold and the leagues will have to be restructured, For us especially and league one/two it’s a disgrace the way money is distributed in football and there could be many casualties out of this.

    I really feel for the clubs and players and feel the future of football could be very different.

    Callum Cooke was ok but I think like many others he failed to do enough and could be in for a significant pay cut.
