I’m not signing it.
What the feck is a petition gonna do? Absolutely nothing! Bury in league 1 as we know are gone, dead in the water, no coming back.
Best thing Bury fans can do is unite around reforming in the lower leagues next season. Waste of time and effort trying other wise.

And to add to that, we’ll be well into October before they can even think about putting together a team of free agents and youngsters. I don’t see how they’ll be able to see through the season with such a pile up of fixtures, it’s pointless. As I said, Bury fans need to rally round setting up a new club lower down, they’d be a big club there, it wouldn’t take long to start winning games and get some momentum going. -

It is strange how many City fans think that Bury should be expelled. Presumably they also believe Bradford City should have been expelled in 1983 when we missed Football League deadline after deadline and were actually wound up.
Back then, the Football League, went the extra mile and then some. A new company was set up, we were given time to raise the funding required and we were even allowed to retain our name. Thankfully, today's EFL was not around then.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

I think today's decision was the correct one, regardless of who might own the club, though it is hard on the town and the supporters. Why should Bury receive favours not given to, say, Aldershot, or Maidstone, or the original Accrington Stanley, or (at a lower level) Hereford Utd.? All had to reform/become phoenix clubs, and rejoin the pyramid at a much lower level. I'd think that Conference North would be the highest newBury could hope for, but I expect the next step down would be more realistic.
The problem of unsuitable owners and inadequate EFL oversight of the same however remains. WIll the end of a two-time FA Cup winner move the EFL to action? Cynical me will not be holding my breath.

I'd hope other fans would do the same for us if God forbid Bradford City ever got into Burys position.

Ok. Now I'm a bit confused. I thought the CVA stemmed from an administration in the summer that fans were calling for. Evidently I am wrong. I apologise. I don't know how I reached that conclusion. Maybe I've mixed it up with something I've read about Bolton. It was just a free-standing CVA rather than one agreed in receivership. I thought I'd read that coming out of receivership stumbled on the charges over assets I posted earlier but this does not seem to be correct if the club is not in receivership. That then puts me in everyone else's camp. Why did the EFL stop them playing games if Dale insists he provided evidence of funding to last a season in time? Is Dale/Bury still making mortgage payments despite no revenue? If so, maybe they do still own the ground, club and car park. I don't know.
Sorry if my confusion has confused others!Storck likes this. -

Bury's fans will now focus on seeing what they can rescue from the situation; can they get hold of the existing club or will they need to form a phoenix club? can they get hold of the ground? can they push for admission to a reasonably high level within non-league football?
I wish Bury's fans all the best.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Bronco likes this. -
How long should they have been given? A dozen games in maybe?
