People have to remember that all this could of been sorted out months ago.

Dale brought the club for £1 and then allegedly wanted 2m for it.

It hard for me to feel sorry for them because it's
    allegedly down to them.

Think the EFL will give the new buyers time to show that they've the 2.7m but as you say it will be go through anyway.

I was always under the impression Dale knew he had people interested in buying the club. It's football they will always be a buyer. It's the value the owners put on the club when wanting to sell thats the problem.

If Bury are saved, they're going to need to get a squad together pronto. Perhaps we could give them Akpan and Patrick as a goodwill gesture ;)

The original Accrington Stanley were expelled from the league in 1962 ,well into the season. They had played a lot of fixtures and ceased to function in March 1962. My understanding is that all their results were deleted. Having looked at the history, then typically the only team they beat away was...... City! http://www.footballsite.co.uk/Statistics/LeagueTables/Season1961-62/ClubResults/1961-62.Accringtonstanley.html

Fan's are a big part of the problem TBH. Owners have pressure to spend excessively, especially in this day and age where social media allows fans to become militant. So even if the owner's plans and finances allow them to get through the fit and proper test when it comes to actually situation they will often spend in a way that isn't sustainable. The only time fans care that the clubs been overspending is when the shit hits the fan.

If things like this are to be stopped it needs all parties to stop looking to place the blame, its faults on every party end that together become catastrophic. Football clubs needs all parties pulling in the same direction and for that to be based on being financially sound first

    Disagree.

Everyone should know that football is an expensive business and hardly any money is made unless you own a top club.

So if you can't afford to run a football club then you shouldn't own one. It's simple really.

Football fans will always want players that applies for every club and will never change.

The firm taking over said their main lawyer is on holiday. Im sorry but the deadline has been known about for a long time. To say you need more time as a member of your team is away is absolute noise to me

Not baffling to me at all. The EFL is fronted by our former director Shaun Harvey, the tit responsible for the current abysmal League Trophy format, as well as trying to promote a League Three consisting of mainly Prem B teams. He’s kept quiet throughout this saga and to my knowledge has never given answers as to why these unscrupulous characters keep passing the leagues so-called “fit & proper persons test”

Another worrying thing is that it sets a precedent, if we can let one team go tits up then why not let others as well? I don't want to normalize teams being kicked out of the EFL.

Another somewhat awkward line of inquiry is did anybody within Bury FC, fans included, speak out when they were obviously spending beyond their means over the last few seasons? When they were top of the league did anybody stop and say "hang on a second, how can we afford to run away with the league title?".

Rochdale spent about 30 years in league two without feeling the need to spend a large amount of money on players they couldn't afford to try and turn them into a league one or championship outfit. Is it time that we as fans accepted that when we've found our level we need to accept it and not expect miracles?

It would do more to lose a Chelsea or a Man City than Bury or Bolton, that would bring this crazy money roll that they're on back down to Earth...

Shaun Harvey jumped ship just before it hit the iceberg didn't he.

A man involved in 3 Admins and stood up in court and said he didn't know who owned the club he was CEO at whilst at Leeds should never have gotten anywhere near running the EFL. His EFL trophy is a joke as attendances show except for the day out at Wembley which would still be there if the competition didn't have U23s team in.

He famously said that Bolton Fans would remember Ken Anderson because he put the club on a good footing for years to come.

At least the EFL are showing some teeth now and are forcing the hands of some clubs, Bolton were taking the mickey and until Bury were kicked out were just stalling, Steve Dale wasn't making any attempt to appease the EFL, in the past you would have seen Shaun Harvey wave them through to start the season no questions asked, after all Steve Dale took over Bury on his watch.

He didn't jump ship, he was booted out in February by a small group of Championship clubs (ironically including Leeds) who believed the TV rights contract he had negotiated for the EFL didn't provide as much money for the larger Championship clubs (inc Leeds, Villa and Derby) as they had wanted. The larger clubs wanted more for themselves and less for the rest of the EFL! He was then put on gardening leave for several months.

I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. In his previous role, he was the one who had to sign off the Owners and Directors test! I always believed when he was Club Secretary at Scarborough, he was out of his depth.

Dale has plenty of form for this. All the time he claimed all he wanted was the best for Bury football when in truth he was carrying out his plan to rinse the club of every last penny he could get. Despicable human being.

The phoenix club Bury AFC have applied for membership of the North West Counties League next season.
    https://www.nwcfl.com/news-articles.php?id=8121

They are one of 11 clubs to apply; 9 of the others are clubs seeking promotion from the level below, with FC Isle of Man making up the applicants.
