That's interesting. Where did you find all this information on wages?

They are basically an 'average' of a few sources ranging from media reporting, some social media (although not just any old random, tried to make sure they had some legitimacy) and in some cases (Riley especially) from people close to the player (generally via friends of friends). Then I also used Football Managers default database, they use researchers for every club and these researchers have contacts with journalists, club officials, agents and even some of the players. Generally, you find all the data from all these places generally don't fall much more than 10% either way of each other.

Its probably about as accurate as you can get without being employed by the club in a position that lets you see every single contract

Probably not the accurate post I've ever read on here. However loved the satirical content within it haha

I know somebody very well connected to Fleetwood and he says they attempted to sign Doyle in the summer but he turned down their £6k a week offer. It was mooted a few times on here and on other platforms he was on around £10k at Preston.

We sold Wyke for £900k wasn't it? Wouldn't surprise if the fee was invested/forecasted in Doyles wages. Scannell won't be on peanuts coming from a PL side...

I would imagine that Fleetwood offer was £6k after the expected average bonuses as I'm pretty sure he isn't on a base wage of over £6k at City. If you assume city play twice a week and he scores 1 in 2 though then with bonuses he going to be pushing £7k if not more a week at City

RE Wyke fee, it was much less than that. On a Sunderland phone in with their chairman, Stuart Donald, this week a fan suggested the Mackems had spent a million on Wyke and Donald laughed and said they’d spent nothing like a million on him.

I would imagine it was closer to £500k and we may have managed to get a few add ons on top?

I don't remember there being any question that the Wyke fee was sub-£500,000.

I don't think we got much more than we bought Doyle for.

At the time it was reported that we received around 300k for him.

I thought the Wyke fee was announced as £600k + add ons? If it was only £300k and that had been announced there would have been hell on. Only getting £50k more than we paid for him!

At that price of £300k with the sell on
