I think it is all about timing. They started the run when there was still an opportunity to make a move up the table.

We finally lost this season when we somehow contrived to lose at Walsall, a team on the back of five straight defeats, had their main goal scorer sent off after 6 minutes, went one down on the 12th minute................then despite this, they score on the 42nd, go ahead on the 47th minute. Credit to City to getting back to 2-2, however when you think their heads would be going down, they score again and despite the superiority in numbers and nearly half an hour to get at least a point, City achieved a defeat!

For me that was it! No surprises with the subsequent results after that game. What could/should have been the start of a resurgence, was a sad defeat.

That result was a killer as you say @Bigod win that and they take a step forward, but overall the Blackpool game sums this season up for me, when they needed to be strong in the last 6/7 minutes as they knew Blackpool had nothing to lose by throwing caution to the wind we caved in.
I know its long gone but for me someone like Cadiss playing that day we would have won, no one showed leadership or as Jose put it "big balls" that day.

Many valid reason that folk mention as to when, where and why we've lost our way

One other that I felt was a factor was when we we'd kept four clean sheers out of five, winning four out of five.
We were due to play struggling Shrewsbury next, however they'd had a good cup run, so we had a free weekend.
So after a two eek break, next up was Barnsley, a far superior side.
They hammered us in a total one-sided 3:0 game.
We never recovered the previous form.
Our weak underbelly, turned out to be a quivering spineless jelly

We made some silly changes for that game and went to defensive

HopkinS killed the Barnsley game stone dead before we had even kicked off with his changing of the team. Highly likely we would have lost but HopkinS made damn sure we did.

    Hope had dwindled after Walsall.
    Hope disappeared after Oxford.

I appreciate Bowyers positivity, what else would we expect from him? I take it as good indication of the kind of man manager we have and chuffed his position is sorted well ahead of the end of the season.

As for the remaining games, I view them as a rehearsal for those still contracted next season and those loans/short term contracts who might be looking for a move to us next season. Whilst it’s still mathematically possible we have to look like we’re fighting. Reality is that fight went long ago for many of this squad.

look Edin Rahid'd us up.. we are completely Rahic'd the players are Rahic'd and dont give a Rahic..

not a chance in hell we are staying up.. my prediction in June was relegation at Bristol Rovers, if we lose tomorrow then we are mathematically relegated.. so i wasnt far off! I really wish i was wrong... but us fans can see the Rahic which has been brought into this squad.. not a single player who is worthy of any contract or even a place in the squad.

The signs were there last year when we got tonked 7-0 by Harrogate town and beaten 3-0 by BPA, if Rupp doesnt splash out and get rid some of the Rahic players we currently have, then we will relegated again next year and will likely see a Bradford derby in the next couple of years.

Last 5 games we've scored just one goal in over 7 1/2 hours of football (if indeed you can call it football).

TBH honest - I think a humbling HOME defeat against mighty Gillingham will confirm our relegation. :(

Not sure Caddis would have made any difference to the result if had been playing for us. As good and consistent as he has been for us, we still lose nearly every week, including that Walsall game which we should have been able to manage better than the shambles it turned out to be

We'll never know but he seems to be the only player who encourages, organizes, leads, but remember we were 2 goals to the good with 6/7 minutes+ injury.

In all fairness l recall your, ‘we will be alright on the night’ mantra, in the early autumn, when you claimed we would be comfortably ‘mid table’ by April! So although the ‘hindsight’ may well be convenient, then your ‘firm’ foresight was hopelessly off target!

At least we don’t have the stress of the play offs to worry about : unamused:
