As I alluded to the other day - GB is no doubt just winding the season down, making relegation as painless as possible, in terms of results.

Well we may as well turn off the lights. The minute you throw your hand when it is mathematically possible to be safe is the day to call it a day. Imagine 6 games ago if Rochdale did likewise? When they were 1 point above us and now 2 clear of drop zone. Their last 6 games were WDWDLW.

So why cant we win our next 2 home games against Gillingham and Wimbledon. And pick up 2 wins and 1 draw from Rovers, Coventry and Scunthorpe.

That in my view will see us safe. There is no way what so ever Bowyer has thrown his hand.

I admire your optimism, but I can only assume you havent watched us much this season to think its still possible that this shambles can pull off a great escape

 

Last year we beat Rochdale 4-0, Since then Rochdale have accumulated 15 points. 11 were in the last month (6 games). We could do likewise with 5 games, (form does not matter - hunger does, look at Wimbledon) it is possible but highly unlikely that all I'm saying. Basically saying there is no way whatsoever we have chucked it and preparing for league 2. So I agree with @jon its a must win game.

Southend, Wycombe, Wallsall, Stanley, City are all shit plus a few more. This is why its a must win game again. As all these teams have not taken any advantage YET

 

Will you all give @Bantam Blade a break. Nothing is impossible, yes very unlikely given what we have seen this season. No point in saying we are relegated until we actually mathematically down, or even IF. Argggg its catching lol

 

I just wish we'd hurry up and get it mathematically confirmed. As long as it's possible I'll still have that little hope that we'll do it and after all it's the hope that kills you.

 

I have being doing a bit of research. Here is the league table for 2019 only. ie from 01/01/2019 Bottom 5 clubs.

Wycombe played 15 - 12 pts
Stanley played 16 - 11 pts
Walsall played 15 - 10 pts
City played 15 - 9 pts
Southend played 15 - 8 pts

So I agree there has to be an upturn in results. Any team that accumulates 9 points from 45 deserves to go down. However, there are 4 other teams in a similar state as I have shown. We need to gain 9 more points than them. 4 wins and a draw and we could do it, Hence why I agree its a must win game.

Rochdale look as if they have done it, Wimbledon too. Let us be the 1 from the other 5 that have been shit that develops some balls.

fair enough I will. but just think if Rochdale had the same mentality. They gained 15 points in 2019. Now 2 points clear. And were only 1 point above us 6 games ago.

 

Yep, and sod's law tells me that even if we did win all our remaining games, we'd still miss out by one point and that for me, would be a far worse pill to swallow.
