Problem is with our fans is if we win next week everyone forgets just how poor we've been this season. But hey, at least it's sustainable

 

Not interested 1 bit and more than likely wont be watching, none the less should be a good yard stick for MH of whats required for next season against one of the better teams at this level who are also in good form. Obviously I always want my team to play well etc. But I must admit I'm slightly concerned at some of them that have been serial underperformers now decide to put a shift in that contracts are expiring, and claiming cos it's working under MH bla bla, personally I'd expect anyone playing for our club to always give their all regardless who's in charge.

 

Hopefully today's poor performance confirms to Hughes that most of these need shipping out.

League two shocker (not) as distinctly average team beaten by potential automatic promotion rivals.

Put aside wishful thinking, the match went as expected. We all know our team isn't good enough, seen it all season.

 

Good to see Ridehalgh on the bench once again.

 

This will make it 9 wins from their last 12 for Bristol Rovers, they've managed to hit the kind of form we'd have needed to make the play offs.

Fair play to them.

 

We've been second best from the start. They're just a better side than we are. It's all about the summer now, this squad is a long way short.

 

Definitely our worst performance. Beaten by a better team, simple as that really. I can't wait for a few of these to move on, the question is whether we can recruit much better than we have for several years in the summer.

 

Will feedback after the game

 

I think most would say Sutton has offered more than Delfounso though.

I struggle to see what impact he's had in any match he's played. Just another journeyman who needs to play at a lower level than he currently is.

 

I agree. And Barton has had 12 months and 2 transfer windows to shape his side. We shouldn't be expecting miracles from Hughes, its a poor squad.

 

We can do another clear out, perhaps we will, but we've seen a few previous clear outs doing quite well.

Jamie Proctor has scored today for Port Vale (in the playoffs)
Tim Dieng has scored today for Exeter (2nd place)
Omari Patrick has scored for Carlisle (Carlisle are crap, but could still finish ahead of us)

I'm definitely not saying I'd take Patrick back, but how many clear outs do we have, and how often are players proven to be good enough?

I'm sick of hearing about budgets holding us back. A lot of clubs in the hunt for promotion on budgets less than ours.

It's how we use the budget that matters. The recruitment has been woeful for years now and hopefully Hughes utilises it far better and doesn't leave us with such an unbalanced squad too like Adams did.

We had one of the best budgets in league 1 the season we were relegated for example.

 

From what I've heard from Hughes I don't see a reason why it's not true, he comes across as a genuine guy unlike Mr Adams who blamed everyone and his dog.

 

Out of interest, which players do you believe were deliberately not trying under Adams but have now made a conscious decision to increase their effort under Mark Hughes?

 

They should all be playing for their future employment....

We look the slowest team in the league in every area of the pitch. Only Vernam has any sort of mobility about him

 

Yep, Lavery and Robinson made us all worry at the time of signing them and our major signing of Gilliead made me gulp when we signed him from relegation threatened Scunthorpe.

 

That is down to the defence. You can scream all you like about Bass, but a high level of shots puts any goalkeeper under pressure and liable to concede.
