If i could be arsed I could go back in this thread and pull out several posts where you squirm your way around, making excuses for blatant in your face stuff.

Wasnt it you who could not understand why the EU would not just change its rules on third countries because at the end of the day we are the UK and we want to have our cake and eat it? The mean old EU wouldnt let us and waah.

    That was you

It's not that I don't understand it. I do. I just don't like it and think it's poor legislation. That's two different things.

I haven't squirmed my way around anything on here I don't think. But what has that got to do with anything I said? I don't view the world through a pro or anti Tory lens.

I do agree that Brexit happened.

I don't agree that France are turning more of a blind eye to it than they used to do or that the relationship is fractured. I don't see any evidence of the first bit at all.

Correlation of time does not equal causation.

So you think if the 2016 vote never happened that the dinghies would be crossing?

I see no proof they wouldn't either from a legal or moral perspective.

The people who are driving the increase for financial gain seem to be outside of those sorts of considerations and I can't see any reduction in effort from the French to stop it, I don't actually think there was much effort prior to 2016 either.

I am open to actual proof about whether that's incorrect though. Just not conjecture.

Once your generation goes. The worst, spoiled, entitled generation in the history of the UK. Things really will be good for the country again.

Take your time though because you do provide endless entertainment for the rest of us.

Because many of them in boats are not genuine asylum seekers, particularly the Albanians.
There are good reasons why some (and they are a minority) coming from (eg) Africa might want to come here rather than other places, particularly if (coming from our ex-colonies) they speak English and/or feel they know more about our customs and culture than they do of (eg) Italy, Greece, Germany etc.

You may be right with regards them coming from ex-colonies and speaking English but that shouldn't be an excuse to pick and chose which country they flee to, if they are fleeing for their lives as many claim, some of the above who are coming here in boats are the very people you say are not genuine asylum seekers.
The should go down the legal process of claiming residency in this country as many hundreds of thousands have done before them.

Yeah, people fleeing violence and persecution should just fill in the requisite forms, post them off and wait their turn. Sorry Dave, the real world doesn't work like that. Desperate people, quite understandably, take desperate measures. That includes paying criminal gangs to get them out of dangerous situations and, unsurprisingly, many of those gangs rip them off, put them in overcrowded lorries, unseaworthy boats etc etc.
Have you watched the film 'The Swimmers'? If not, I highly recommend it as a great insight into the thought processes and the kinds of risks taken by people to get out of horrific situations.

If you’re not careful,he’ll accuse you of being mentally ill.
I had a post removed the other day for a little swear word and my accusation that a well known poster was a bell end.(which I think he is)
Yet a completely baseless, ridiculous and frankly insulting accusation that a poster he disagrees with is mentally ill goes completely ignored.

    Go figure.

Yet you say yourself the boat people are illegals, so where do we drawn the line open borders because some one says they are fleeing persicution doesn't mean they are, they ditch their documents of proof of where they are fleeing from for a reason.
The vast majority of the boat people are single young men with the odd family on board if the majority were men with their families I believe many would have more sympathy for them unfortunately most people can see right through the present situation and are now saying enough is enough.

I don't think there is any need for comments like those, strange how a mod can belittle a fellow poster for spelling a players name incorrectly yet allow theses kind of replies free hits, shocking.

I know that. I've already said that I think the Albanians should be blanket-banned because Albania is a safe country. Of the remainder, some are genuine and some are not. So we need a much more efficient system (which the Tories have massively degraded) to sort the wheat from the chaff. Not a blanket ban on everyone which penalises genuine asylum seekers.

Dont get triggered - im not wishing any ill on anyone. Just highlighting how we will be able to move on and progress once this generation is no longer electorally significant.

And yet you’ve had 6 1/2 hours to change it or apologise for a baseless, nasty comment and yet you’re just waiting for a mod to remove it.

    Well done.

I agree with most of your views. I also vehemently dislike the nasty views of certain people on here. But there really is no excuse for questioning people's mental health when they disagree with you. I say that as an ex mental health professional.
