Yes, getting visitors to visit is a benefit. But as I said before, it's not really any skin off EU noses if Brits have to queue in Kent for a few hours before visiting. They're still going to visit.

It probably is a benefit to the EU. Being seen to be resolute on their processes and not making concessions to a country that chose to opt out of the club is a deterrent to others who might be thinking of doing likewise. The pictures of miles of British cars queuing in Kent will play well to the EU public, who already think we were mad to leave and resent the amount of time and energy that Brexit had caused the EU.

Brexit is like getting a divorce without agreeing the terms before. Painful.

We were stupid to go into this without agreeing terms first. Now we are getting done over badly.

Read that people have to prove that they can afford £85 a day to get into Spain and a whole load of documents.

Seriously, some people just don't think of the bigger picture. Letting any government soundbite and you believe them is a joke. Some of you should be embarrassed of yourselves. As if any money was going to towards the black hole of the NHS system? As if!

What was the Health and Social care budget in 2016 as compared to 2023?

Whats your point before I answer?

The bottom line is the NHS is a mess. Waiting hours longest its ever been and doctors/nurse quitting like no tomorrow.

The NHS in my mind is now a failed working system. Its a black hole!

How do we or they know who is legally entitled to visit? We now require a 90 day visa, we can only go to the EU a few times during those 90 days. How do they check who has been, who has a visa, how many times they have been etc? Its done with checks. That takes time and thats what brexit has brought.

It's just a question. The efficency of the NHS is always questionable but you'd spoken specifically about whether there was any additional money going towards it. It would therefore probably be useful to see if that had happened or not?

Nearly true. You can be there for any 90 days within a 180 day period but I take your point.

You're telling me that stamping a passport is the most efficient way to do that and there is no possible technological system that could be used either before or after travel that can track it.

And as I say it needs to be proportional - the risk of someone staying for 95 days is really no actual risk at all, it's a technical point that while somewhat important surely doesn't necessitate 7 hour queues. If you know what date they bought their tickets you can prove that retrospectively anyway.

You keep saying this, but where's the evidence? Our growth forecast is miles behind that of most other European countries.

It's one thing to believe that Brexit will eventually prove beneficial. I don't believe that, but it's an arguable position. It's quite another to claim that Brexit Britain is booming, when it manifestly isn't.

Trev you said it's booming right now. I want to see some proof please. This was also said immediately after this process started two years ago and we are still waiting.

Despite the most inept government in modern times we have record employment, High inward investment and still some growth in the economy, With overseas companies still choosing the UK to do business here and the choice country to invest in,

Remember the forecast of the Remainers?
    Record unemployment Nope!
    House prices falling Nope
    Record dis- investment Nope
    Drastic recession Nope
    Emergency Budget Nope

The leavers got it right its just the devout Remainers who got it wrong and would have destroyed the economy but will not admit they were on the wrong side
