A data protection request will sort out the truth. All logs etc will be on file as to what pinged up for the Police to intervene.

 

If he thinks there is wrong doing then there are legal channels to go down, the same for anyone who thinks they have been dealt with in a matter not in accordance with police regulations. Not really sure why the club have put out a statement though, it should be dealt with as a private matter but i guess that went out of the window for the likes and retweets route on social media.

 

That case you cite is completely different as the police had live ongoing intelligence that the suspects were armed and had been seen with guns earlier.

And for the assumption that solicitors won't take a case on if they don't think they can win it-don't make me laugh.

 

I will look in to this a bit more tomorrow, if the club are backing him then I will be claiming refund for 4 of us plus car parking fees, I expected any money refunds to be targeted towards team building and nothing else..
Even if this situation had involved McGod I would have felt the same......

 

This information would be in the hands of solicitors, the club have no reason to get publicly involved. By all means listen to the players concerns but it seems the club have already decided West Midlands police are in breach of police protocol. If the police are exonerrated of any wrong doing i would expect them to ask Bradford City for an apology.

 

If he is claiming "alarm and distress" the WE should be suing him and his teammates for last season.

 

May have missed something here but if the club owned the vehicle then I could possibly see why they are getting involved especially with the cloned plates issue if not it's a matter between BRE and the police I wouldn't expect my employers to get involved if it happened to me in a car I owned

 

What treatment? Being handcuffed and a taser being ready? I'm not an expert, but on the basis of why they were stopped that sounds like sensible precaution.

From the video I've seen, everyone was pretty calm and rational. I saw nothing derogatory in the way the police spoke to him or his partner. 'With everything that's going on, you're doing this to me'. There you go, an instant race card being played by BRE. Hopefully the facts emerge - I'm assuming the 'intelligence' that the police had will be on record and made available to the lawyers now investigating. And I may be wrong, but I'd doubt with the racial sensitivity that does exist right now, that the police would maliciously stop and search a BAME couple on fabricated evidence. Especially when one of the officers involved was BAME.

Lets see what the facts bring, but based purely on the info available right now, it looks like more racial over-sensitivity and virtue signaling to me. Th*s shit, and the club's reaction to it, are not the way to deal with racial tensions and issues.

 

If he thinks that what happened to him in that situation was over the top its a good job the armed response units didn't stop him because having a taser pointing at him would have been the least of his worries.

 

Proactive police stops are not random though are they? There's always a reason for stops and as long as they're evidence based I have no problem with it. Good policing.

They were wronged, maybe, as in they had done nothing wrong, the cops were only doing their job, why post it on social media , the whole reaction from the two of them was like a pair of jumped up chavs....er hold on a second

 

I hope so, because I hope he realised that the cops were only trying to do their job. If he was just randomly stopped, then he'd have a case, but if they can prove that the car he was driving had flags on it, then I think he should realise (and then have a word with the garage he bought if from).

From my reading it is his plates that have been cloned, so his car is legal but someone else is driving round with a copy of his plates. If it was the other way they would have had the car

 

Legal stop given the intel on the car, legally cuffed for police safety (note the size difference between the cop and BRE), relative size, strength etc. are justifiable factors in deciding whether to handcuff or not.

 

Wilsden, interesting you mentioned a previous experience. I was relating a story, at school, about the Ripper and how I got stopped loads of times with a girlfriend and how they checked the car, questioned the girl, if we knew each other etc. Got asked by one of my kids how I felt about it and simply said I knew what they were doing and fully understood it, me being stopped was a minor inconvenience in the scheme of things. He said it just not the same here in USA, his friends are well fed up with being stopped.
