I cant believe the club haven't taken action yet......then again as Fordy would say there is no real leadership and football knowledge at the top. We are just aimlessly bundling our way on, finger waving in the air and hoping for the best.
How i wish I had the finances and opportunity to get hold of this club and drive it forward. I refuse to believe we cannot rise above the malaise that hangs over our club.

Admittedly this is being written on my last night in Majorca so slightly blitzed ;)

Stuart as DoF would tick a whole bunch of boxes.

    Purveyor of attacking football? Check.
Massive amounts of experience in football across a variety of roles? Check.
    Club legend? Check.
    Positive personality? Check.

You'd think players would go to him, too, so yeah, even if we beat Tranmere tonight, go on a bit of a roll and stick with Hughes, installing Stuart as the Director of Football for the sake of the club would be a very positive move.

There's absolutely no way on earth Hughes and McCall would work imo. The style Hughes plays is in complete contrast to how SM would set us up and they'd be at loggerheads from the start.

The DOF and manager need to be fully aligned in the footballing identity or its a partnership thats doomed to fail before it's begun.

As long as he can have day to day involvement with the players I'm not sure he'd want a desk job.
Someone said Paul Jewell had been mentioned when Wellens was an option for our next manager I believe that would be a great move, he still lives in the area had years of experience withing the game mostly lower league stuff and he always said Bradford City come second to his first love Liverpool AFC , classing himself as a Bradford lad

Does he have enough current, relative experience though ? Been out of the game for a while. You have to say though his track record of recruitment in the summer of 1999 was damn good.
