True. I over reached a bit. You'd be lucky to find better than an 80/20 split on a neutral poll. Maybe I'll put it to the test.

Come on now the reactions of the players is very telling. Its a fairly well known meter by which to measure whether a decision is unreasonable or not.

I don’t like it but by todays interpretations it was a penalty. Very unfortunate but still a penalty

Do you think it was intentional?

Witnessed a Swindon fan driving on Midland Rd around 22.10 windows down, stereo blaring and racist sing lyrics and language heard aimed at Bradford City and local population. Only regret I didn't get chance to video him. Anyone else witness him. It was a small 4x4 like a suzuki. Swindon need to turf out this sort of supporter ....

Watch the slow motion a few times and step it through a frame at a time. It drops sharply as if it hit his arm that he pulls backwards a bit, away from the ball - but arm contact is only after it comes off his chest first. I'd scream for it against us but it's not a penalty for me if arm contact comes second. The ref would struggle with this even if he could see it well, but I suspect he was placed where he could not see the chest contact first.

I'd still rather have controveries like the ref getting this wrong rather than VAR delays and refs still getting them wrong!

‘Certain’, I anticipate is comparable with ‘beyond reasonable doubt’. It is a very high threshold. If there is any reasonable doubt, then a Judge in a trial would point this out to a Jury.
In the handball incident, there was no injury to an opposing player, no other law was broken. My understanding was that the powers would not arrive at what could be seen as a draconian decision, unless there was absolute certainty. There is no transparency, no explanation, rather a primitive process. Did the referee even seek the views of his assistant (no longer lines people)?
In effect Judge, Jury and as near as damn it executioner.

Looked to be a rather harsh decision, but as many have said, we shouldn't have been in the position of defending only a 1 goal lead. Cook has half our league goals so far; we need the rest of the side to contribute more. Wright looks like he could do so, but the midfielders and especially the defenders need to do more (or even, anything at all).

The one problem I see with any sort of video review system is that refereeing might actually get worse: will there be as much motivation to get calls right the first time when you know that you, or somebody else, will be able to review the play at leisure, from a variety of angles and speeds? It has been used in various sports here for quite some time now; I only care about hockey and baseball, and it seems to me that the quality of the officials has diminished. Granted, this is just a highly unscientific 'feeling.'

Not at all but we can usually tell by the players reaction.
