We create our own problems. We overplay and we’re not very good at the playing out from the back stuff. This performance is one we’re starting to see a little too regularly. Our results so far don’t really reflect our performances. We’ve not really bossed a single game this season, in a convincing way,

 

They aren’t getting the ball and Cook is isolated. Foulds gets the ball on the halfway line and passes it backwards. Halliday not far behind him. Midfield is overrun.

The performance often needs to gee the crowd up. We’re not great to watch, and I don’t even mean just today’s performance. Its ok ‘wanting to play the right way’ but you have to earn the right. We’re naive and not interested in the ugly side. Stockport have set the tone for their performance through how hard they worked. We’ve set the tone for ours through the usual making a balls up of our own goal kick in the first couple of minutes and being on the back foot ever since. The only positive, is that its only 1-0. Hopefully a few rockets are fired at HT and a few changes are made.

 

Agree. They are pressing us and giving us no room to play our normal game. Can they maintain it or have their own plan B, let’s see second half. What we need is to figure out how to get on our own front foot and fast in the second half. Feel Angol would be a smart move sooner rather than later….

We cannot ride our luck to get promoted, we HAVE to dominate teams and not allow the opposition to strangle possession. MH must address these issues because with a large crowd in attendance the fans need appeasing. We talk of a plan B and changes are needed 2nd half. Maybe Songo'o, Angol and Oliver for starters.

 

We are not learning from our errors. We keep repeating it. Passing is extremely poor. Our wingers are isolated and Stockport to be fair are working their socks to keep us in check. Thought it was a soft pen.

 

Im still waiting for City to make VP a fortress.

 

Every game I’ve seen him play Odusina has been poor in the air. Doesn’t seem to get himself in the right position, mistimes his jump and gets caught under the ball. This game it’s already happened a couple of times where the ball has gone past him when it was a simple headed clearance. I’m not seeing this aerial prowess over Crichlow.

 

I think we can do it well but Stockport have done their homework and are doing a great job. We need to be better able to switch things when plan A gets found out. There's still time to develop that ability. Even this game isn't over yet. Come on City.

We need something from Chapman. Very few assists and goals. Vernam would have been far much more of a threat in this team.

I'd give him a few more minutes then get Harratt on and Gilliead will have to switch so Harratt can play central.
