There are several changes that could be made at HT, but Perreira needs hooking. Chapman doesn’t have the space to play as a 10, so stick Oliver on next to Cook, go a bit more direct and push Chapman out to the right,

Foulds isn't doing badly but you're right about the rest. Credit to Stockport though. They haven't given us a second to get any kind of composure. Another team at VP for their 'cup final'.

Every game I’ve seen him play Odusina has been poor in the air. Doesn’t seem to get himself in the right position, mistimes his jump and gets caught under the ball. This game it’s already happened a couple of times where the ball has gone past him when it was a simple headed clearance. I’m not seeing this aerial prowess over Crichlow.

Yep. Lewis aside, was anyone more than a 4/10?

Seeing as the Defeat Incoming thread was closed, I told you. This type of result has been coming.
Perfect from Stockport. They did a number on us.

I thought Lewis and Foulds played well. To be fair they usually do but when your keeper is generally your best player week in week out then you know the rest are far from the finished article. Terrible performance today but no surprise as it's been coming for weeks. We aint as good as the results have been and today our luck ran out.

Suprised East not on bench. Least he offers forward play unlike gillead and smallwoods constant sideways or backwards passes.

I know limited to subs so some missing out but Harratt no point even being on bench, if we need goals and he can't get on no point being sub.

Looks to me like a player who good a new contract with his club and his future is sorted.

Lost his drive and fight to impress. Shadow of the player of last season at this moment.

Not so much as others but the ref warned the keeper about time wasting after only 2 minutes of the 2nd half.

I just don’t like the hypocrisy of some fans who only ever accuse other teams of gamesmanship.
If we are 1 up at Salford next week late in the game we will be doing exactly what we think we can get away with.

    Sport on!

This dark arts and blaming the ref all the time is boring.

Teams are going to come to VP thinking a draw is great result but if they go a goal up or sense they can win then they will go for it.

We didn’t play like the home team day. Very slow on the ball and lacked movement.

The defeat was on us because we we shite.

Well, that was dreadful but not completely unexpected given our recent performances, where we've been more than lucky to get the points we have. What strikes me more than anything though is our complete lack of mobility upfront. Cook will score if you create chances for him but if that doesn't happen he can't create anything for himself. Oliver is very similar. I would have subbed Cook for Harratt today, but having said that we had so many players off their game it probably wouldn't have made any difference. For what it's worth I thought only Songo'o and Lewis were worthy of any praise today and even then some of the latter's distribution was a bit iffy. Everyone else was either poor or terrible. Lots to ponder.

Still waiting for Dion “Messi” Periera to turn up this season. I wasn’t bothered about him coming back but I must admit I didn’t see many games at the back end of last season due to the fact it was a terrible season. Social media went into meltdown like we had signed the leagues best winger. I’m yet to see what he offers. I won’t write him off just yet but I don’t actually think he’s that good.

Big test now for Hughes the last few games the performances haven’t been there despite the points We are found out press hard and we are unable to cope. He now has to show that he can adapt the tactics to suit this league otherwise we are going to have another disappointing season. No excuses he has been supported to the hilt

He’s had two poor games, notably both when “partnering” Dion imho.

I said Banks is/ was a big, big miss, perhaps today proved it.

Was cook even playing today ? Whenever cook comes up against a half decent defender.. be becomes the invisible man.

you can say no service blah blah blah… but hey the striker has to get himself into good positions and make an effort as well. Time to drop him give oliver a chance and use Cook as a late impact sub.

I noticed the ref wasn't interested in a penalty when Oliver was grappled in the area, but quickly gave a free kick for exactly the same challenge near the centre circle.
Given the rest of the day we would have missed anyway.

.No it wasn’t dreadful, we lost to a penalty. Apart from that I think they had one decent strike on target. Fact is we were poor, not dreadful. We couldn’t pull it back. Poor but dreadful seems an over the top comment.

Yesterday's defeat came on the back of a descent run in the league it happens but what worries me is,and others have commented about the frustrating tactical persistence of playing it out from the back.
Even though our league position would suggest it works I'm not convinced it's the way to achieve success and allows the opportunity for the opposition to high press.
Also when defending a corner why don't we leave someone up front?
Strange tactics and frustrating as hell.
