He ALWAYS starts off well no matter the club, teams then suss how he plays and the following season they are usually relegation fodder. It happens everywhere he goes, if you don’t see that over the 10 clubs he’s managed , plus the numerous disciplinary charges him and his buddy have faced and been found guilty on each and every occasion then you haven’t been watching carefully. I wouldn’t have him near the club, he’s a proven liar and and undisciplined to the extent he’s a liability. So not a chance.

Stevenage fans today thinking he may be in trouble for criticism of the Ref. As I mentioned in an earlier post on this thread I’ve been face to face with this guy and the weasel Raynor at the FA Commission after the Crawley punch up. Nasty piece of work in my findings. Don’t forget apart from the last few games last season it was him who sealed Gills relegation. In my opinion, shared by some of their fans, yesterday is the possible start of worse to come.
We are nearly 25% into the season and by video or games played all will know what he is about. Hoof and long throws won’t cut it. See if I’m right. Out of the country yesterday but followed things. Evans can moan all he wants, that’s his style that’s why he is yesterday’s man.

The important point about Saturday's win was getting our noses in front early. That meant we didn't have to suffer 90 minutes of non-stop shithousery from Evans and his team, because they had to attack us and not just timewaste. It also gave us the space to hit them on the break.
Scoring early is definitely the key to countering teams that come here to park the bus and timewaste.

Platt was bloody awesome against a team skying crosses. He was the barrier!

Comfortable in the end, though we were far from convincing until the 2nd went in. I worry about us playing out from goal kicks - Stevenage and Walsall had the measure of us when we do it and we invite pressure on ourselves.

But hey ho, a good win in the end. I like Wright - he actually wants to get in behind the opposition.

Good to see MH making timely, effective subs again. 3-0, game won, Songo'o and Sutton on to shore things up a bit. I'm a bit torn on the Halliday sending off. The game was won. Half of me thinks it was a stupid, needless challenge that he didn't need to make that far up the pitch.....then the other half of me thinks it's fantastic that 89th minute, games won, and he's still going for it 100%.

Have a look at the number of set pieces we defended and then work out who that number 9 was for City that kept getting them away.

Once you've worked that out you'll realise why there's not a single person on this forum that would agree with your post.

Have a good night Fordy, it must be tiring always trying to be so contrary.

I don’t think there was any luck involved yesterday when teams play the percentage game and get the ball in the box at every opportunity there will be the occasional half chance but our defence was excellent. And we missed chances of our own and made their keeper make some good saves

The last two games has shown that we have what it takes to get out of this division this season.

    Hard to beat.

    Creating and scoring goals.

    Not getting bullied.

Good squad depth and good talent.

Subs making an impact on the game.

I can see us regularly topping 18K home gates soon if we carry on like this. Meaning more money to further strengthen in January.

Evans was bemoaning big spending Bradford-well due to a mix of stunning ST sales, amazing sponsorship packages-I mean nearly every inch of the ground is sponsored- we can spend the money. He is just jealous that's all.

Get promoted this season and I cannot see any reason why we couldn't be there or thereabouts next season.

I'll say this quietly but not having James Hanson for those two semi final games was a big blow.

Think Hendrie. That's his position. It isn't Sutton's.

Good performance today and deserved victory. Stevenage were a horrible side, long balls into the box from all angles with no attempt to play football whatsoever but I think we coped pretty well with it for the most part. Platt was very good once again.

Cook with another two good goals again and my god that's back to back corner goals which is remarkable considering we've been hopeless at set pieces for years.

Wright was excellent too. Worked his backside off and produced the moments of quality when needed.

Overall another pleasing afternoon and you still sense there's a lot more to come.

Odds on with this guy he will turn us round. I have been against him in the FA hearing after Crawley. I can say with absolute confidence he is one of the most odious people I’ve ever come across and Rayner is the same.

Best ‘team’ performance I’ve seen from us in a long time.

Wasn’t pretty and we had a stroke of luck at times. Difference between this squad is resilience and ability to take pressure off ourselves by scoring at important moments to relieve that pressure.

Our strength in depth is evident today - bravo Hughes, management team and playing squad.

Best feeling we’ve had as a club since Parky days.

Not sure it's Cook who's fighting for his place he's the player in form and scoring, early doors first half once again Cook was heading the ball out of our area and some complain about his lack of involvement when he's not scoring, classic center forward play as well as doing some of the mundane stuff.
Some were saying Cook wouldn't be good enough this season well he's well and truly put that myth to bed, but if we do go up we should be looking for better unless once again the lad can step up, as Wayne Jacobs did season on season, proving many wrong.

What's really making me happy is we have a squad who care as much about the result as we do. Chapman hasn't really had a mention but today he grafted his arse of to close down up top.
