Osadebe is a good sub as proved at Doncaster but he should never be a starter

 

Was hoping for 7 points from today and the next 2 games. I had expected today would be 3 points but if we can still come away with 7 points come next week I’ll be happy. Even 5 points wouldn’t be the worst return.

 

I like Bobby and I think he may have a future at the club but currently he’s playing no more part in games than me or you

 

I don’t disagree with your above comment , disagree your first statement Pointon is not a supporter he is a Player and I have not seen him bullied in any game I have seen him play.

 

What I meant with the fan reference is that he’s a lifelong city fan who will give 150% simply because of that, where some if not all the current players have no loyalties to the club and at any point would / could down tools as they did under Hughes.
The midfield battles today were pretty tasty and I think it might have been too much for Bobby.

 

It’s only a mistake in hindsight, as GA suggested afterwards that Oduor has not overly impressed in training, so he made a decision in good faith. However, on the back of today’s performance Osadebe didn’t take his chance and was very poor. Will be very surprised if he’s anywhere near the team in the coming weeks.

Not with upside down head in charge Dave….Hes been horribly inconsistent . Now we know why he lingers across the lower divisions!

 

I have seen him play for 45 minutes in Walkers position and he was was poor. On todays showing Oduor is ahead of him and there is chapman. Unfortunately Pointon strengths don’t correspond with our needs

 

Sorry it’s me, finding just a little hard to understand why you take Pointon to Gillingham, Forest Green and Doncaster as 19th man, then when you lose two players from your team you still don’t think he’s worth putting on the bench? Just so strange.

Quick thoughts on the game: an indifferent first half. Lucky ricochet for their first goal, second goal well worked, good finish. Thought Kiernan for them was a handful. Not keen on away team celebrating to the kop though.

Osadebe a passenger and didn’t affect the game at all. Rightly hooked at half time.

Despite the scoreline I felt we were still in the game - heads weren’t dropping and we were continuing to battle - a good trait to have when you’re in that position.

Much better second half and a point was well deserved.

Overall a good enjoyable game and a fair result.

Wanted to add some credit to Morecambe who I thought were a very decent team and played well.

 

Very impressed with Morecambe today solid at the back and lightning quick on the break. We did very well to get back into that game. The first half highlighted the weaknesses of the wing back system with balls played down the channels to quick forwards loads of space

 

Entertaining game of football and will take a point after such a poor first half. Morecambe didn’t look too bad but I thought we flattered them with some of our play, I’d love teams to let us walk through their midfield so easily.

Despite the entertainment I feel the quality does need to improve to sustain long term success, we weren’t as bad second half but it was just aimless hoofing first half. There is a middle ground between Hughes ball and hoofball and I feel we’re yet to find it despite the success.

It was a shame we didn’t win it in the end, would expect Cook to bury that chance when he hit the bar.

Onto Stockport, no reason we can’t win.

I thought the Morecambe number four did very well with regards doing enough to make sure Cook didn't get a free header on that late chance but what a comeback if Cook had put that in.

 

I'm surprised that people seem satisfied with the explanations offered about Pointon. Tome it seems patently obvious that Pointon is being rested on the club's orders ahead of a January move. There's no way that his current status of being outside the match day squad is based on footballing reasons alone.

 

Could be the same for Chapman too?

 

Could be but then again I could just about entertain the idea that Alexander might not have been convinced by him although I'd still be surprised. On his day he's a decent player.
