That performance was all we’ve been asking for. You need at least 8 or 9 players at it for 90+ minutes, not 2 or 3. The most complete performance we’ve witnessed at VP in a long time and will hopefully set the tone for the remainder of the season.

i would imagine given its a Tuesday game The Voice hadn’t had chance to write the preview before Rod had posted in the other thread. Happens from time to time then the mods clean up and merge threads.

We have beaten two good teams in row. I thought MK was one of the best passing teams we will play and all our players were on top form to beat them.Well done lads.

 

I said at half time their passing and movement was superb, Jack Payne behind most of it, when you see him having to go back to the edge of their area you know your doing the right thing.
Although they were 4 - 0 down they continued to play it, possesion football, we took our chances they didn't, but when called upon our defence were very good including Walker..

 

I'm not sure what just happened, but I enjoyed it. Also, pancakes. What a day.

 

Good discipline and patience and stuck to the game plan. Would imagine GA is incredibly happy with the way we stuck at it. They are technically a very good side who will pass the opposition to death and might just make the auto’s but we showed how to play against them. Credit to GA for this one.
He got it spot on. I think MK learned tonight they may need a plan B when it’s not working.

 

Quick word about the pitch. Yes it looked shocking but didn't actually seem to play that bad.

 

Joking aside that has to be some of the worst comms I've ever listened to. Definitely on a par with the two Tranmere whoppers.

Set my sight's realistically on a return to the stands at Accrington away.
MK will be tough opposition but it's about taking our chances and building on three unexpected points at Wrexham.

 

Gilly has filled in at LB/LWB before, as he did Saturday. Did a stellar job on all occasions. I think he is the best utility-type player we have had for many years

Also, for the record, Bobby P started his career in the youth team as LB for many years before progressing to MF, so that is definitely an option for us too?

 

Why would you drop Platt after Saturday? He pocketed the best strikers in the division

I do like the way MK try to play. We’ve managed them well though, and we’ve largely approached it as an away side. It’s working well.

 

Organisation, work-rate and discipline: all excellent so far.

It would be nice to be stroking the ball around the park like MK Dons AND winning 2-0. However, I'll settle for performances like that all day long.

 

You can tell it is not a normal night tonight, manny Osadebe has found the back of the net as well(for forest green)

Only real negative tonight is the pitch. Looks awful, and its going to see several matches over the next couple of weeks…..
