And yet in the second half we started to piss about with ball around the back AGAIN trying to kill the clock. It failed AGAIN.

 

And Chapman playing a more advantageous role for Mansfield than us, almost made us 9 vs 11.

 

Give it a rest.

@JonButterfield thought Stockport was a good point but failed to understand it wasn’t because they are now above us.

 

Not really we went for a second goal to kill the game in the second half but couldn't get it, Flinders making two good saves from Cook , Chapman not aware enough to pick the run out of Nevers as it would have given him a one on one like Esia's chance in the first half, Mansfield knew at 1 - 0 they were still in the game and had nothing to lose by attacking us as the game went on IE their centre half getting the equaliser from the full backs cross, the way the Mansfield bench celebrated you'd have thought they'd won the league.
Once again we showed without Cooks goals we have no other consistent goal scorer.

 

And yet you continue to watch 'us'. I say 'us' because i feel you aren't really a part of us. You never, ever have anything positive to say about any City side. Why do you bother?

 

I wouldn't bother Frenchy-we all know what the RC stands for in their username. Lives up to it each week.

 

Fair summary. Saw some of the best football of the season in that first 45 today. Could and probably should have had a couple more goals for our efforts. And for the first 25 minutes of the second half we battled and ran for every ball and tackle. We simply gassed out, the excellent Walker and the admirable East due to lack of game time. The substitutions were needed but had the reverse effect, Chapman showed why he's currently on the bench and Nevers couldn't get into the game. Mentions today for Clayton, Cook, Eisa, Bola and Walker who I thought were excellent. Gilliead a worthy man of the match. A lot of positives to take from the performance but jeez Hughes needs to address this second half form. It's beyond embarrassing.

The ignore feature is absolutely bloody fantastic.

 

So frustrated with a point but having seen them hit the bar and also have an effort miraculously hooked off the line by Bola, we can’t complain.

Eisa should have buried his chance early and when Cook scored, it would have probably been a different outcome.

Gillead had his best game in his central midfield role IMO. East didn’t look out of place. Lewis pulled off a couple of good saves.

If we build on that performance we should be in the hunt for sixth or seventh. Clearly little between us and them. Good effort lads, unlucky.

 

As a fan only totally agree. Should have played Nevers onto a golden chance, then gave the ball away leading to their goal and stood watching. Capped it off with his glory seeking, utter waste free kick. Derbyshire experience would have been far better, hope I don’t see much more of Chapman, he brings nothing.

 

We all know we need a win at second place Stevenage next week because even a draw might send us further on points behind the play off places.

 

Kept throwing ball to floor/towards advertisement board, not to their man to take a throw in

 

Wimbledon, Crawley, Swindon, Rochdale, Mansfield , all home games that we were winning at some point and ended up with just four points. To get promoted you’ve simply got to win most of your home games when you are winning.

 

If Hughes hadn’t selected Cook we would have lost today. I think today spelt out the truth re: our promotion chances. We are a 7/10 League two team, a team which may flirt around the play offs, but quite simply won’t succeed in promotion.
