They do, but those rules are more governing what investments can be made and the taxation position of these, rather than maximising returns for the pension fund beneficiaries. The pension fund beneficiaries are also those making the investment decisions.

I take your point about the implications of having to play somewhere else and how disruptive/costly this could be. However it is not impossible.

 

Aren’t Wycombe buying Readings training ground which is valued at £50mill for around £20 million.. Surely VP is worth more than 5???

 

Harrogate was just one suggestion due to its locality but in all honesty it’s the smallest capacity and the hardest to get to from Bradford so I’ve ruled it out. Is that an acceptable reply?

 

So, removing Harrogate from the options of groundsharing, what would be your objection to the others? Halifax being the most obvious option as it’s the closest and has good transport links from Bradford? I’ll wait?

 

And Calderdale council are looking to sell The Shay , worth a look....

We won’t buy it obviously, we don’t need or want a permanent home outside Bradford but if we offered £200k pa to rent it I’m certain Calderdale council would snap our hands off.
Then we stick 2 fingers up to Gibb until he negotiates a fairer deal that also includes him taking over maintenance of the ground including the pitch.

 

That’s not the suggestion, playing elsewhere would be temporary to force Gibb into a better rental deal for us.

 

And it’s more regularly waterlogged than Vp, then there’s Rugby to consider Anybody see Wigans pitch yesterday?

 

Where did you get this information from with regards what that guy said to Rupp ?.

 

Holding Gibb to ransom would be a massive mistake. Also.. would you want Sparks and Rupp going up against him? They are a pair of clowns and would be rightly laughed at.

 

I'd say at the moment they will be very short odds for Mansfield not to go up in an auto place.

 

I'll go with that, it's only 10 minutes down the road from me and Halifax is much nicer walk to the ground than the god awful Manningham Lane.

 

Then how do we suggest being able to afford the 500k annual rent at VP with just half the number of season ticket holders, pay for a new pitch and various other maintenance without lowering the budget available for players.
As sad as it is to say, Valley Parade is a massive problem for us whilst we are in league 2

 

I'd love us to go into the meeting with Gibb in any sort of position to negotiate unfortunately I'm not as confident as yourself. T
There will only be one party that does the negotiating unfortunately and it wont be Bradford City.
What have we to negotiate with, it's not as if we have an alternative venue to play at.
We've been told by Ryan the club have reached out to Gibb as our landlord and if nothing else got to him to give us a little sponsorship something no other CEO has been able to do in the past (every little helps) let's hope other things have been discussed but as @Kevin has said he's a duty to get the best deal possible for the pension fund.

 

I’ll ask again, without Bradford City as a paying tenant, what do Gibb and the pension fund have?
