Well, I have just got back home after my 4 hour, 160 mile round trip. I have been watching City for over 40 years, my dad for over 80. I can’t remember a time where we played as badly as that performance today. It was shambolic.

As others have said already, there was laughter when goals were going in, but there was also some pretty toxic things being said. I drove home tonight without really caring about the match. That’s not right is it. I should be bothered about how my team played and the fact that they lost, but it’s just the norm now. I work with fleetwood, Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn and port vale season ticket holders, all of whom are in divisions higher than us and who laugh at me daily! I don’t mind too much, it’s part of being a football fan, but it’s different now this season. We are the laughing stock of the football world with our pitch, our owner doesn’t seem to care less, our players are not good enough and I don’t see how that is going to change overnight. If I thought long and hard about it I would probably make myself ill and get depressed.

Where do we go from here? When are things going to change? What on earth can we do now?

I really hope Rupp is ashamed of himself.

    I hope he's embarrassed.

Imagine sitting in a box watching the club so many love so passionately and realising 'I've done this. Me. I'm the absolute mug who is destroying this club.'

    Shame on you Rupp.

    You're a disgrace.

That could and should have been 10 goals to them.

    We were woeful!

@wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler if you really are a fan of this club then tell Ryan Sparks to do the right thing and resign.

Even on here good posters are tearing into each other.

The sarcastic comments from the 'uber fans' has been unnecessary poison in the well, but now both sides having a go and getting personal and tagging others.

    Very, very sad to see.

Rupp and Sparks have torn this club apart and I pray they leave it in tatters for someone else to fix, because they ain't turning it around on a reduced budget with their nonchalance and complacency.

It would help if you stopped being so bloody arrogant! I and lots more fully understand the potential consequences if a couple of thousand ST fans choose not to renew for the coming season. Things will get tighter financially and the club will have to cut its cloth accordingly. It may have to dispense with Ticketing Directors or Lead Digital Media whatevers! ;)

In terms of ST numbers, we'll be back around the the 2021/22 level when we were financially stable. Yes, costs have increased but ST prices have increased by 25% during that time and commercial income has almost tripled. We'll still have more income than most other clubs in our league. But those who choose not to renew will be sending a small but important message to Rupp in doing so. Sometimes you have to go backwards to move forwards. We'll still probably be able to meet Sparks' objectives of not getting relegated and balancing the books .. with a bit of pruning. The notion that we'll be entering Administration is for the birds.

At least you could be bothered to attend. I'm writing this sat on the couch and wondering if @Park bantam@Park bantam is enjoying the new "atmosphere" now all us plastics aren't there.

He was the root cause for that starting 11, for that alone he deserves all he gets.

Worst beating down i've seen us take since Bristol City about 7 years ago. In fairness 5-1 flattered us, could easily have been 8 or 9, but primarily we lost this game before we'd even kicked off. Not to take anything away from an excellent Mansfield side who showed why they are top, as an attacking threat they simply tore us to shreds time and again. But going with that formation and line up was always an accident waiting to happen. Which by half time turned out to be terminal. Ranks amongst some of the dumbest managerial decision making i've seen in my time watching City, its the sort of thing i saw Bowyer, Adams and Hopkin do.

    Sadly, I agree.

We must have scored 5 or 6 goals since Christmas that I haven't even stood up for, let alone cheered.

Some of them I have, of course, but not all of them.

I certainly don't get upset when we concede anymore.

It's baffling watching people get angry about it.

    Its A Bantam Thing

    :joy::joy::joy: :sob::weary_face::sob:

Sign me up for a season ticket if this is what is on offer

At least the absent owner wasn't here to see this
    O Hello

Wearing a bright red cap an' all, attention seeker
Was the club shop out of city hats?

Have no idea why Alexander keeps getting the sack in football,
Well i do, two right backs left on the bench and Gilliead played instead, weakening the midfield as the Stags ran riot early and often.
    Cookie benched as well
Needs to follow rupp and sparks out the door pronto.

    MOTM ?
Brad Halliday for me, for obvious reasons today

    Tinpot effort all round
But at least it is sustainable
    For Now

This is the same mighty Mansfield that lost to Tranmere on Tuesday.
They aren't anything special, it's just that we were set up to fail today and obliged spectacularly.
It's like us at Accrington, played a team on a poor run and we looked great.

I actually laughed when the 3rd and 4th goals went in. After seeing the team selection on the way to VP I knew it would be bad, didn't think it would be that bad, but I still stuck it out for 86 minutes.

There was a time when a performance and result like that would put me in a terrible mood all weekend. Now, I genuinely don't give a shite.

If Rupp sacked Sparks and replaced him with, say, Paul Jewell (I dunno, a football man who has run a club before), I'd renew in an instant. I would have massive, massive doubts over Stefan himself, who appears to be completely inept and should be nowhere near a football club after dishing out Edin Rahic and then Ryan Sparks, but someone like Jewell alongside maybe another legend or two in the board room would tell me we're finally focusing on what matters - the football - and not just leaving it to random uni graduates and whoever happened to be employed at the club at the time.

More likely, though, is another internal promotion.

Get shut of Sparks - Gibb becomes CEO , Rupp can rest knowing the clubs stocks gone up and in safer hand

The clubs 500k better off per year and the pension fund owns half the club

Rupp gets his wonga back when he decides to sell up - -he should get his dosh back because the clubs value has gone up with owning the stadium and if and when were in League 1 / championship

Same. Zero smugness here, genuinely. Chose a day out in Leeds with the Mrs. Not a single regret other than a tinge of sadness that I know the love has gone really. With City, not the Mrs. Spent 20 years of marriage making football a priority on Saturday afternoons and now its time to put the Mrs first for those few hours instead. She's actually more interesting and better company than I thought....and there's all sorts of interesting sh*te to watch on TV instead apparently!!

    Chin up folks.

It'll get better again at some point. But these clowns need running out of town.

This is an incredible interview. Just making out we were beaten by the much better team and that he wasn’t surprised by the result. I give up.
